It marks a two-game win streak to start the season since 2022-23. Senior guard Shay Ciezki scored 25 of her 35 points in the second half as she set a new IU career-high against UIC on Friday. The Buffalo, N.Y. native knocked down seven 3-pointers in the win, going 7-for-10 from beyond-the-arc. In two games last week, she averaged 28.5 points, shot 52.6 percent from the floor, 56.3 percent from the 3-point line and a perfect 1.000 from the free throw line (8-for-8). Sophomore forward Zania Socka-Nguemen also impressed in her opening weekend for the Hoosiers, as she averaged 19.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in a pair of games. The Silver Spring, Md. native recorded the team's first double-double of the season with 19 points and 13 boards against UIC on Friday night. In her two starts, she shot 73.9 percent from the floor. The Hoosiers are holding opponents to just 18.8 percent shooting from beyond-the-arc in their first two games of the season.
