Well, we don't need to give up yet. This team may pull it together and figure out how to get there. And its not disappointment that I don't understand, its just regarding it as a failure. This team has a lot of talent, but as a team they are just not that good. Too young, not a lot of balance, little outside shooting, and just not much leadership as far as I can see. I don't want them to settle for the NIT, I want them to fight on and be the best they can, in every game. But failure? That would be ending up in the NIT and losing to Bob Morris in the first round. :laugh:

When Indiana was "there" we went NIT here or there. Seems like we won the National Title in '81 and '87 and had a NIT visit squeezed in between the two. So if we are "back" it seems reasonable that we might not make the brackets every year. I can see Charlies looking at it as a disappointment and understand that. Looking at this team realistically I just can't call it a failure. 

  Lets hope he realizes how good he looks in those!

And I'm also wondering when he's going to schedule that all expenses paid (hookers and beer included) yearly trip to Bangkok he promised all the mods. Something he was calling a "focus group" getaway. 

We'll have to disagree then. I am not sure that any season should be judged as a failure just because we don't make the tourney. If I had ever felt that this team was a sure thing, then I would agree that not making the tourney would feel like a failure. I just don't see it at this time. We are missing way too much.

And being disappointed is fair. But its not a broad line between being number 30 and being the first team out. So it shouldn't be that much of a disappointment. And this team may squeak in the tourney yet.

Lol, many of us here are refugees! And some of us have spent a year or two wandering while we looked for the promised land!

And that's it in a nutshell. People think because we have a great recruiting class, and lots of talented underclassmen, that this team should be world beaters. There is a reason that so many talented freshmen barely see the floor until their junior/senior years. We are seeing more of them on the floor because we do not have either numbers or strength in our upperclassmen. What I want to see is improvement all year long. At the best I thought this was a team that would nose around the bottom of the top 25/also receiving votes. That might have shot a little high. If its the NIT, cool, lets win it!

Uh, if you don't have somebody hitting the outside shot, the zone just collapses and that makes it very tough to get penetration. We got "blown out" cause we stopped playing after the half. Doesn't really matter what style of offense you run, if you don't come to play, you probably lose.
