Hutchens enjoyed his transition to new media so much that when his contract with Scout ended in July 2015, he took another chance in the online world, getting involved with BtownBanners.com at the behest of Publisher Jason Edie, who was looking to add more content to the site. Although BtownBanners had thousands of registered users, it was primarily a message-board–style site, chock-full of forums for IU fans to express themselves. (And, boy, do they ever: At publishing time, the “Fire Tom Crean” thread had nearly 2,900 posts.) lol

Devine frustrated me the first 7 or 8 games, but he really started to figure things out as the season moved along. He still really doesn't look like the guy when you need a yard and are just going to blast it through, but he looks to be a very good RB. -

I think Natee is probably going to find playing time at a number of positions, but at this point it doesn't look like he will be a RB, although he may fill that spot at times. Probably one more RB in the class. -
See, Btown Banners.....where great minds get together and find out their thinking along the same lines. Except when it comes to basketball!

No announcement on destination, but I'm guessing its probably a more elite job. Matching the pay will not always keep a coach at IU. Resume building can be important.

Personally, I want to see the Hoosiers rrise to become a leader in the B1G East. Not really interested in it being brought down to our level.

Toks has been seen as solid to Iowa. Getting a visit means we have a chance and would be a great coup. Watts, would be a great get. Thought has been that the one place he wouldn't end up was Colorado. -

Would love to get that whole list, but the truth is the odds would be against us getting more than 4 or 5 of them. Getting Swann and Miller and one of the other D guys would be a major coup. -

And there is a correlation. There are plenty of guys that are just as good in the 2 and 3 star range, and there are a few coaches here and there who are really good at picking them and and getting them signed. Overall, if you can get a class that is heavy on 4 stars. it will generally show dividends on the field and in your record. -

All right, gotta say it. The B1G looks pretty bad this year. I've had that ticking around in the back of my head all season, but its really starting to come to life. WTF Iowa? -
Happy New Year's all! Typically, I slept through it and still found it to be a new year when I woke up!

Feeney, Spriggs name to All-American teams
HoosierReb01 replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I don't know who will be on the O-line next year, but I have to admit, as long as Greg Frey is the O-line coach, I'm pretty confident. -
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – For the first time since 1945, a pair of Indiana offensive lineman have earned All-America status. Senior left tackle Jason Spriggs collected second team recognition from the Walter Camp Football Foundation and redshirt junior right guard Dan Feeney received second team honors from CBS Sports. The duo gives the Hoosiers three All-Americans over the past two seasons, joining 2014 unanimous and consensus selection and current Atlanta Falcons running back Tevin Coleman. In 1945, Howard Brown (second team) and Russ Deal (third team) became the first IU offensive lineman pair to secure All-America status in the same campaign. Andrew Greene (1994 second team) was the last Hoosiers offensive lineman to card All-America status. Feeney has allowed just one sack in 36 career starts at right guard (2,617 snaps). In 2015, he has not allowed a sack in 431 called pass attempts. The Orland Park, Ill., native owns a team-best 91 knockdowns in 967 snaps. A first team All-Big Ten honoree, Feeney was also an Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award Watch Lister. Spriggs was named one of six semifinalists for the 2015 Outland Trophy. He has allowed just two sacks in 431 called pass attempts and has 72 knockdowns in 972 snaps. The Concord, Ind., native started 28 consecutive games to begin his career and has made a team-high 46 starts in 47 games at left tackle. Indiana shares first in the Big Ten and 10th nationally with 13 sacks allowed. The Hoosiers rank first in the B1G in total offense (490.8; 16th nationally), passing offense (285.9; 24th) and scoring offense (36.2; 23rd), and second in rushing offense (204.8; T-30th). IU has not led the conference in scoring offense since the league began using the entire season's statistics to determine the statistical champion in 1985. Indiana has not led the league in total offense since 1988. The Hoosiers would be the first team since Ohio State in 1995 to pace the Big Ten in total, passing and scoring offense. Indiana (6-6) will face Duke (7-5) in the 2015 New Era Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 26. The game will be held at Yankee Stadium with a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ABC.
