We can appreciate what he did as a player while recognizing he had no business coaching here. Take away the name. IU hires John Smith, a guy in his 60s that had never coached college and hadn't been a head coach at all in nearly 10 years after his last gig fired him. That's not a hire to be excited about and that AD shouldn't make the next hire.

If Dolson was "very happy" to get a 60+ year old that hadn't been a head coach in a decade, and never at the college level, that's a pretty big negative in his ledger. No active AD would've done that.

Who said kick? Put his golf clubs and humidor outside, then when he tries to retrieve them lock the door behind him. No kicking involved. Joking...kind of. He never should've been hired, think of it as fixing a glitch.

I read it as two different coaches. One asked him to speak and he declined, then him saying something nasty to Moren was a different incident. Which is even worse. He's either that arrogant or thinks he's untouchable because of Buckner.

Some posters are concerned about the perception of firing Woodson after 3 years. Allegedly he didn't talk to McNeeley after McNeeley signed, and he recently no showed recruiting until he was told; recruits talk too. Not talking to your only commit and not showing up on the recruiting trail is a bad look. I'd argue it's a worse look than "IU is a bunch of meanies that fired the guy who could be bothered to do an essential part of his job".

At this point we may as well blame Woodson. What's one more on his list of screw ups.
