He said a 'big wink', that's not a big wink.

With IU's record of coaching hires he'd have another chance in 4 years when his daughter is in college. Of course then he'd be 52 and too old for some on this board.
-
Someone from Woodson's first 2 teams, Johnson would fit.
-
Yes
-
And he left Drake for WVU.
-
Devries leaving WVA after one year to go back to Drake where he was at previously, yeah I don't see that happening.

"Clearly IU ruins coaches"

The NCAA is equal parts incompetent and corrupt, but I'm sorry if a politician has enough time for this then they shouldn't have their job.
-
Nope. He's a little over .500 in conference and has made the tournament about 1/3 of the time.
-
If the contract was signed and announcement tomorrow then the details are already locked down. If you turn out to be right you'd be a legend but seems hard to believe.

That woman is a work of art.

Stevens took that mid-major to two straight title games. I wouldn't be quite as hesitant (but I'd still be hesitant) if McCollum had any DI experience as a player or assistant, ala Cignetti, but he doesn't. What he did in DII was impressive, not denying that, but he'd be facing better players and coaching in every B1G game than he ever saw in DII; not a risk IU can afford to take right now.

They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread
JSHoosier replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Woodson only made the tournament with Jackson-Davis on the roster, couldn't even make it with about 6m in NIL. Woodson should have to pay the value of his IU contract to Davis. -
He misspelled error in the headline though.

I did a search but didn't see anything recent.
-
He did his job.
-
I never said Stevens wasn't a pipe dream. I'm just not sold on McCollum, he's got a total of 1 year of DI experience, I don't care what he did in DII. Santa Claus, but not far from Tell City.

The one legitimately good hire we made in the last 25 years we followed up by doing the dumbest thing imaginable.
-
And UL ran us out of the gym.

They'll be afraid they'll die laughing.
-
Before he goes about .500 in conference and misses the tournament more often than not.
-
Personally, I never thought Stevens was in the bag or even much of an option. I appreciate that Chris etc are willing to share what they hear but some of them felt good last time then we spent 4 years repeatedly finding out why no one wanted the guy the hired. IU has given us no reason to feel confident in this search.

A well run, serious program doesn't but this is Indiana.
-
You've got McCollum confused for Stevens there.
-
Brownell fits with how this program has been run the last 25 years.
