More appointments that are political, what could possibly go wrong?

Woodson has been an NBA coach since 1996. He was head coach of the Atlanta Hawks (2004-10), New York Knicks (2012-14) and Indiana Pacers (2021-25). He has served as an assistant with the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, 76ers, Detroit Pistons, Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers.
To be fair, he wasn't coaching the Indiana Hoosiers either.
Sorry, I know it's the wrong thread but that was too easy to pass up.

His dad was, yes.

Kyle Shanahan thinks Rourke would've gone higher if not for his knee injury.

Eric Bledsoe served as an advisor briefly but couldn't spell LLC.

Make the tournament, and not a stupid play in game. We've seen time and again the right coach can make a big difference pretty quickly, we should expect the same with our resources.

From what I read for 2025-26 the NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility for players that were previously JUCO. The waiver has to be applied for by the coach, it isn't automatically granted.

Just in title.

It's Kentucky, the family tree is more like a ladder.

2 years I think.

Jobe averaged 4 points 4 boards and 1 block the year before he got to IU. He wasn't anything special before Crean came calling.

We've seen time after time that the right coach makes a pretty big impact in a short amount of time. 4-5 years just to get going? Then we got it wrong, again.
I haven't seen anyone expect a national title in year one, but if the people preaching time are being honest they probably expected more than 1 of his WVU players would want to join him.
There's nothing wrong with people saying they see warning signs.

There’s absolutely nothing from an IU standpoint holding DeVries back. He has better resources than nearly every other team in the conference. Johnson seems like a good hire but Adams is meh.
To be fair, the powers that be insisted on boy scouts when every other program realized the NCAA couldn't care less about their own rules.

Here's a band I don't recall seeing mentioned in this thread; three sisters from Mexico called The Warning.

Just now, Hoosierfan2017 said:Idk, all the great success Davis, Crean, and Archie have had post-IU certainly supports the “our fanbase is the problem” argument. Once they were unburdened by our toxicity the sky was the limit. I’m sure Woody is the next former IU coach destined for post-IU greatness.
Oh yeah, Crean really showed what he was capable of at Georgia. Do those fans even know they have basketball?

20 minutes ago, Scotty R said:Well maybe some day people like you will realize that the fans are part of the problem. We keep blaming the BOT, the President, the AD, and the coaches and we have had about 6 of each the last 25 years. The one constant is the toxic environment around the program which includes the fans. Why don't we just go through 10 more coaches and turn on them after year two and see how that works out. Go ahead and keep your heads buried and keep blaming everybody else.
This board should show you how nuts this fan base is when you have two different threads with 2000 pages about firing their coach
Give UK our last 25 years, the only thing left of Lexington would be ashes. Fans aren't the problem; horrendous mismanagement is. Expectations aren't a bad thing.
Or we could start hanging banners saying we tried, just put the ones that actually matter in storage so no one makes the mistake of thinking this is a serious program.

I wouldn't.

7 minutes ago, Home Jersey said:This will be the 4th coach in 10 years. IU's problem has been bad coaching hires, not the fan base. If we fire everyone after 3-4 years because they don't win big right away, we're going to be doing this into oblivion. I guess that's one approach.
Like it or not... fans may have to wait two or three years for it to be really rolling. We're not the employer here telling them their seat is warm after one year. We can throw money at whoever... this cycle is still not going to net the best version of DDV's roster because he has no track record here/momentum behind the program currently.
A year like Louisville's would be very nice. Something less than that is also going to have to be acceptable. IUBB is in no position to act like we're above anything. We have to earn everything from the ground floor up like any other P5 program.
I don't think anyone expects to compete for a title yesr one; but being in the tournament and possibly winning a game should absolutely be the expectation with no excuses. We need to stop lowering expectations and making excuses, coaches are paid as much as they are for a reason and that reason isn't "well, I tried".

So IU would voluntarily give up scholarships and ban themselves from the post season for 5 years.
BOT Changes

The provision that gives the governor full authority over the BOT only applies to IU, it's strictly political. In today's environment they'll be appointed for political reasons. Alumni should have some say over who is on the board, I think it's ridiculous that now only at IU do the alumni not have an elected representative on the board.
