(2025) - PF Eric Reibe to UConn

Well as much as we've dismissed the Maryland insider, he's been pretty accurate. We may have to take our lumps until the spring. -

I can't reconcile that amount of money given to someone that doesn't know if they're ready to leave home. -

In a brand new era of the wild west portal and the diva insanity of teenage boys thinking they're worth 1.5 million dollars while simultaneously struggling with the idea of leaving mom and dads house, I truly believe Woody is the perfect coach for us. He had no idea what the requirements of college coaching were. His "advisors" had no clue. So he took a staff of losers, none had ever been a head coach, and Forrest Gumped his way into the world of recruiting. Devine forces have handed him, Bates, Reneau, Mgbako and Tucker. Hunter has brought in JHS, Walsh Cupps, Rosemond...a guy who is now at Tulane and Newton. For a decade we have been completely irrelevant and just missed the tournament. YET, a cashnado just blew through Bloomington and we have a loaded roster. We are being led by a devout Christian PG who defeated cancer. Woody is figuring it out and it may or may not require some staff adjustments, but I see progress and providence on our side brothers. -

I really hope that Barrel Rick's avatar is his drivers license picture. I'd feel better about my own. -

A class of Mullins, Sisley and Grady would be excellent. I still believe in BR. In terms of roster construction, I hope we only need 5 total faces to get to 12 next year. Goode gets his 5th year, Reneau and the guards return and we only lose Mgbako and the Super-Seniors. We go to the portal for two bigs. If Reibe goes to Kansas I suspect Bidunga would be obtainable. I think our approach is changing, slowly with recruiting. -

Hurley has put 5 perimeter players in the NBA in 2 years, and tells a kid in a whirlwind courtship he can be in the NBA in 10 mos. I was all for him going to the best fit, but after the Adam's add I would take a hard pass. Proximity in this case should win out. -

Anyone have a clue what Sisley's NIL deal was? -

I know Pete Yonkman is our unofficial CEO and GM. I know that they want to give Woody every possible advantage to win. It has come with a list of expectations. I don't know if Ol' Pete is uber competitive too or he just wants to have a clear conscience if he has to fire Woody. Either way the NIL has more than tripled since Parker Stewart, Kopp and Durr. I think it's starting to turn into the old Southwest Conference in football if you're willing to pay a kid 1.5 mil and give his parents whatever just to stay home. 1.5m,,,we got our new back court for that. Yeah, we're doing an awful lot just to avoid firing a legacy coach. -

I'm impressed with the recruiting efforts. Hunter jumped in and made us legitimate contenders for Reibe when we lost Moreno and now we are a serious player for Grady after losing Haralson. I'm not sure who the primary is on his recruitment but I suspect it's Walsh. I think what I would say to Mullins about UConn is, "You're not going to be playing on either of the national championship teams there you'll be playing on a team that just recruited over your position." Stay home and be a legend. I'd love to see us land the best shooting class in the country. -

Of the three teams. I'm confident that IU will be the most successful this year. -

This guy has a reputation for being really scrappy. He's a true 3. I think in a 4 out with a high level play maker at point Sisley and Grady would be exceptional together. Very similar dispositions and would be 4 year contributors that would set a culture. IF We landed a class of Sisley, Mullins, Reibe and Grady we could have the best shooter in the country at 4 different positions. Sign me up. -

Reibe's name came out with us being a serious contender a couple of weeks before Moreno committed to Kentucky. Is this one of those situations? -

I think the fall break will be to our advantage. -
I look at the rankings occasionally and find myself looking to see how many kids between 10 and 30 are from Georgia.

I did until it got into week 2 and then 3 after his visit. Is that the German spelling of Haralson? :) -
(2025)-PF Bryson Tiller to Kansas
BA47591 replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Did anyone have a chance to see the write up on the OTE combine. I was surprised to see that none of our coaches were there. Tiller was in limited action while he nurses an ankle but one thing did jump out at me. His measurements in shoes. Almost 6'11", 238. He looks physically like a college sophomore I think was one quote. I know consistent motor questions were there in the past. It made me think of Andre Patterson. I wonder where we're at with him. Self and Pearl were there. -
(2025) - PG Mikel Brown, Jr. to Louisville
BA47591 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I think Brown would be a great facilitator and someone who can knock down the open looks. He's grown 3 inches in a year. I just listened to Bob Cassidy talk about him. He spoke to Browns dad and they are really high on Woody and IU. -

(2025) - PG Jalen Haralson to Notre Dame
BA47591 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Oh I agree. Had Haralson committed to us after his visit we wouldn't have gotten Sisley though. I don't think this was about money either. Shrews offers the better opportunity. I think it would be a masterclass in film to sit with him and I'm sure that resonates. -

(2025) - PG Jalen Haralson to Notre Dame
BA47591 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
This kid has a great family and they have done a masterful job constructing a plan that would get their son to the NBA. He's a good kid but the path has been about showcasing his talents. Shrews did a heckuva job and Jalen will get an immediate opportunity to continue showcasing his talents.
