Sounds like Scott has a plan. As often as he talks to Brad if he's still working that situation, maybe it's possible. Can we presume that the agent contacts have been made with Dusty? That's probably several weeks from taking shape. I wonder who is the next teir of contacts?

It came to this for Woody to bring Reneau off the bench and change his defensive scheme. We exploited MSUs lack of shooting and did some good things down the stretch. -
Potential Coaches Approval Rating (Poll Closes Thursday at Midnight)

What coaches out there get the effort that Sampson teams give? That's what we're looking for. You know you're in street fight playing his teams. Who's teams look that? They have an identity every year that reflects the personality of their coach. We would chew up and spit out 3/4 of this list by year 3. Who would be a the best choice for generic u? Probably McCollum. But not us. We're different. -
Potential Coaches Approval Rating (Poll Closes Thursday at Midnight)

Well you're partly mistaken. If he were to agree to the standard 6y deal it would have to include his son be the coach in waiting. That's not a road I would want to go down. -
These are the numbers I know from the couple of contributors I know well. Ballo, Rice, Carlyle =2.5m. Leal, Galloway =900k. (3.4m) A conservative guess on the rest. Mgbako, Tucker, Reneau, Goode (2.5m) Hatton, Cupps, Newton, James (500k) I'm confident it's not less 6m.

Had DJ not gotten hurt, could he have worked with Killer?

I think Pete Yonkman is the voice at the table for Cook. It doesn't mean Ferguson still doesn't hold some weight. You seem to be pretty close to the situation. If I remember correctly Dolson had zeroed in on Matta as his guy and the uncertainty with his health stopped that and Dolson didn't have a plan B? That is the part Brian Evans leaves out of the story. But after that Quinn moved in. At the time Jawan Howard made an elite 8 and Penny was moving in the right direction. The narrative had softened a bit on the alumni coach.

Who will be HC at IU to start next season

The last 2 searches I would've been ecstatic over Stevens. Not so much this time. -
Killingworth has to be in the post on one of these teams.

I'm pretty sure that Dolson and Stevens talk regularly.

McNeely **** the bed a bit at the end there.

Pitino year two. He might win another championship before he retires.

St John's lost 2 games in the Bahamas. 1 since. Then there's us. Lol

When was the last time you've seen defense like this St. Johns team?

I was hoping to see a separate thread for this statement. This is as a good look for IU. There is starting to be some really strong momentum for Beard out there. I just want a coach we don't second guess before tipoff. I want a serious staff with a proven track record. If it doesn't work then and we're back here again in 4 years then we know we're cursed. I really believe it will be Beard.

I think it has to be an Alpha personality that is proven. Beard recently referenced RMK during their win over Kentucky. I'm telling myself it was wink to Dolson. -
If I knew one of your first 3 was our guy, I'd be pretty pleased. Beard referenced RMK at half time of his UK win. I might be reaching but the timing was interesting.

Brad Stevens hadn't coached college basketball in 10 years. Much has changed. -

I know Dolson talks frequently to Brad Stevens and although I doubt he ever wants to come back to Indiana as a coach, I'm sure his opinion during the coaching search would be valued. Beard checks all of the boxes. Helluva staff, Adam's would be great in the area recruiting. We can't really gamble on another mid-major, we need an Alpha male to coach at IU, the list is short. I'm in the minority but I'm not sold on Dusty as our coach. -

Great effort. Why Rice had the ball I'm not sure. -
I thought last year we suffered because of the overall personality of the team lacking toughness. Then there's this year's group. Doesn't it all go back to the culture of the team. It's lack of desire to win at all costs. Several of our key players, ones with loads of talent, lack the ability to process on both ends and seem to have zero since of urgency. The last offensive play that we drew up wasn't changed after we went from timeout, in bounds on the side to then under the basket, but we made multiple substitutions in that time which would tend to cause confusion. There is definitely a noticeable disconnect now and it goes back to the lack of a culture and inability to have one or two things that we define our program by.
