(2025) - PF Eric Reibe to UConn
BA47591 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Interesting kid. Born in Germany. Lived here then Switzerland and came here as a sophomore. He patterns his game after Kristaps Porzingis. He's a lefty. Underrated passer, really good in the pick and pop. Runs the floor well. He's been living away from home for a few years. A school that puts bigs in the NBA and to play right away. November 1 appears to be his deadline. There's some video of him working out with Dickinson, I'm not sure that checks any of his boxes. 20 years ago he'd been labeled a Euro big. Most bigs are that now. At this same stage, he looks like a s slower Filipkowski to me. Next to Reneau that could work. -

Brandon Garrison is a soph this year and will be be less than 20mpg if Amari Williams' skills translate. That will be worth watching. -

Best case scenario we land this young man and Danny Wolf wants more money next year and leaves Michigan. -

If it's about money for him he could wait until the spring and get 1m. I think he will get the full court press from us. -

Do we lose all 3? -

You would have to think so. Again, fwiw ESPN has Reibe ahead of Moreno at #25. The one I wished we would've gotten traction with is Bundalo. He plays hard. -

I'm old and was in coaching a long time, in-state and Ohio. Moved back to S. Indiana 2 years ago to retire. Ive reconnected with a lot of old friends. Some of the fellas were successful enough to be boosters now. I like to go to the aau events if they're not too far and I try to go to games during the season, of the kids I'd want playing for IU. When I say that there was a punch list that came along with the extra 3+million added to the NIL for this season, I trust that information to be a 1000% accurate. -
(2025)- Trent Sisley to INDIANA

Let's revisit this in 6 months and we can discuss the potential portal options that could be available. I'm sure someone will have started a list in Feb-Mar by position. -

I'm going to wait another month before I get into the weeds on this. I'm still giving Woody the benefit of the doubt on the instate recruiting. -
(2025) - SF Nate Ament
BA47591 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I wasn't super high on Ament when I saw him play but that was over a year ago. I'm a changed man now. Too many people with an educated eye think he's a year one high contributor. Your Paul George comparison made me think of Brandon Miller and I see a lot of that. -

I really like this kids character. I'm always impressed by someone so young giving praise to God in an interview which I've noticed on multiple occasions. Travis Branham is as reliable as it gets with prognostication and he has a crystal ball to UK. They have his last official, right before his birthday. We took a helluva shot and if he didn't live so close to the UK campus I think he was ours to lose. Mullins will be taking his official to UK with Moreno for what it's worth. -

Michigan State is surprising. -
(2025) - PG Jalen Haralson to Notre Dame
BA47591 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Woody has done a fine job this off season but we won't have anything new until late September. Maybe Haralson and Mullins will have a decision date then. There's a strong emphasis this year to be less heavy in the portal and more towards the high school side. Woody needs to score points with the boosters by landing one of the 2 I mentioned, a post player and an immediate contributor. -

JR SMITH , I'm sure the Mullins house would cherish that phone call. He could borrow some money off Braylon on his way to pick-up Delonte West. The point I was making with this. Braylon can go almost anywhere. IU has what to offer him besides proximity? I've seen him play a lot, the transformation is incredible. We all want him to come to IU because he's a helluva player from Indiana. He can do better for himself and future career than IU. I'd at least go visit Alabama. Woody has to land 1 of 3 in state guys. That's the marching orders from the NIL faucet. If it was his choice I know who it would be. There's emphasis on spending the money on prep players this time around. -

You're right, he can stay at iu 4 years and never get to the NBA. Unless Woody decides to run a completely different offense. If he's still on the board, what do you think Rick Barnes is going to show him in October? Dalton Knecht usage rates and sets that were designed for his exact player profile. If Barnes was going to be there the next 3 years, that's where he should go. He'll be Knechts size in 3 years and defend. Dusty May has the 3 guard offense and the development of Johnell Davis, another player with a similar profile. Alabama would be another great place. I want to be wrong on this, but Woody has nothing in his play book for Mullins. Coming to IU with potentially Carlyle and Newton ahead of him with only Tamar Bates as an example of similar skills undeveloped....smh. I'll cross my fingers. -

We appear to be priorizing the young man. I love a pass first pg that can defend his position. This guy is that. -

Tennessee for obvious reasons, Michigan because of the offense and immediately being featured and Alabama because Oates is an offensive savant that puts up 50 threes a game. All significantly better basketball choices than IU. He can be a two and done at one of those 3 schools. Woody might be the worst coach in the country for his skill set, and I hope the young man makes a decision that's not based on the odometer of his car. Being brutally honest, who thinks Woody is going to evolve enough to do anything with Braylon Mullins game with 4 guards on roster with multiple years of eligibility left? He does not fit the Woody profile. Sad as that is. -
(2025) - PG Azavier Robinson to Butler
BA47591 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
With the scraps Coach Matta had to work with last year I think he did a heckuva job. Right now he has McCaffery, Colt Langdon and Robinson. If he can get Singleton from Jeffersonville that's a really strong group. If Butler only had a former NBA player that made 1/4billion over his career to help with NIL?
