Anyone have insider scoop on the next Pope?
-
6 years of elite head coaching experience at the mid-major level 12 years ago. Followed by 8 years of above average results as an NBA coach. Now a championship NBA executive. He's from Indiana.

No where to go off the ball screen with Reneau on the other block. -

That clogged lane isn't working. Get Galloway in the pick and roll with Ballo and spread the floor out. Now might be a good time to switch zone. -

I was thinking about turning down the volume and starting Dark Side of the Moon. -

Both bigs and Mgbako....when I thought this was as ugly as it could get. Go Goode, Ballo, Carlyle, Leal, Galloway. Rice is about to go of the reservation any second. -

Watch Mgbako off the ball defending. This is one of those nights. -

He has a very childlike mentality that come off like he's as dumb as Mgbako. -

Small thing, but why wasn't Ballo on the lane to rebound? -

I can see what Woody is trying to do. It's still three down hill guards driving into a clogged lane, but we can guard the perimeter better. I'm guessing Mgbako is applying some mild sauce to something. -
Your choice between McDermott and Chris Collins?

He went on record years ago he did have interest in Indiana because we were crazy.

Mark Turgeon - A Coaching Candidate? Or Not
BA47591 replied to #1fanofafrin's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I believe Turgeon works with search firms as a consultant. -
I was thinking Darren Stevens from Bewitched, either one of them. Steve with Billy Idol on the bench....."with our resources "

I look forward to seeing the big bracket because it's going to come down to match-ups for most of the top 8 teams in the country. Auburn may be match-up proof. I still think Duke will have a game the second weekend where youth of roster and staff will bite them. No one wants to face St.Johns or Houston.

Personally I think Mgbako is unfixable in the way that Pitino or other really demanding coaches want defense played. He needs to hope for a great shooting performance at the combine. I hope whomever our next coach is will be that type of coach. I think Reneau can be a killer next year with a coach that can get that out of him. Channel his emotional shortcomings into intensity. Tucker could really pop in that environment as well. I wouldn't give up on Carlyle in that type of situation. A perfect scenario would be a coach that could hit the portal only needing 3 or 4 pieces, starting with a mix of their players they bring and recruits, along with a handful of ours and recruits. If we end up with a 4th or 5th choice coach that needs 10+ players out of the portal, we might be hard to watch next year.

Standard contract is 6 years. What coach do you think would have the best chance of winning multiple conference championships and a natty over the next 6 years? At Indiana. We've had 4 or 5 interesting teams the last 30 years. I'd take Pitino in a heartbreak. Our next hire might be sooner than if we somehow catch lightening in a bottle this time, but we would make that hire from position excellence again vs chaos. He did look like Mr. Rourke from fantasy Island today though.

Those are sweet. I'd even entertain the idea of black and white candy stripes and a black jacket for warm-ups.

Seems pretty tight-lipped. Some of these names being thrown around mean we missed a few times.

It would be nice if this thread could be without speculation. I loved Gene Hackman.

Just putting it out there.
