And I was not aware that he was also at Huber.
-
Do you even read what you are responding to. I said that I was NOT excusing anything. Tried to understand whether there was a logical explanation for his not being at the coach’s meeting. When I learned that he could have been at both events, I acknowledged that. Always confrontational, or just here?
-
Nope, not an excuse. An honest question and a possible explanation which, based on the responses I got shows he could have done both events. Do you guys always have to take the low road whenever someone posts something that doesn’t fit your narrative?
-
When were the meetings? Wednesday he was at Huber for the annual fundraiser. Which would you rather he attend if there were a conflict?

Maybe it’s my age, but I don’t ever recall Woodson being considered the second coming ,
-
Understand… however Woodson’s age is repeatedly brought up by folks here… which should have no bearing on his ability to coach. The recruiting trail you point out should be a responsibility of the staff , don’t you think? Younger guys who have the connections to 17-19 year olds. Woodson certainly needs to be involved, but the staff should be doing the heavy lifting. My point is… judge Woodson for the on court results but don’t bring the age issue into the conversation. Hell, we’re about to elect a president who will be in his mid 70’s. If the upcoming season is a cluster, then time for a change. But let the upcoming season play out before making a decision … based on performance, not age.

Ever hear of something called ageism? Last I checked there are laws against even mentioning a person’s age in regards to their employment
-
What if he does? What if IU makes the FF? What would it take for you to give him any credit? I don’t know if Woodson can pull it off or not but I am going to at least give him the opportunity. Are you that connected to the program that you know, 100%, that “ his buddies “bought him a roster? Or is that your sorry @$$ lame explanation? I get that there are folks wanting Woodson gone. What I don’t get, and frankly what is really pathetic, is the assumptions that lead to those opinions.
-
Huh… I thought that the old folks were stereotyped as closeted minded
-
Of course you wouldn’t
-
Or… what if you let this next season play out, and then make a decision?
-
Would rather he is ready for the start of the season.

Caleb Love also pulls out of the draft and will return to Arizona

Maybe not the place for it, but it was comedy… Tonight FOX had a 2 hour homage to M*A*S*H. I forgot how great this was, through cast changes, it always delivered. Funny, but also could bring me to tears. I don’t think there could ever be a better comedic series

If you want a good illustration of how f’ed up the whole NIL process is, look up the saga that is Jaden Rashada. His attorneys are hilariously positioning him as a victim. Unbelievable

Over the weekend, Fort Wayne hosted the Mad Anthony's Red Coat Gala, where the honorary awardees are given a red coat. Long time event that has raised significant money throughout the years for various charities. One of this year's honorees was Bishop Dwenger/Notre Dame/Bengals tight end, Tyler Eifert. In his comments, he mentioned that "there's always so much hype around ND every single year--we gotta find a way to get over that hump." Guess IU basketball isn't the only ones facing the proverbial hump!

So glad to see Schauffele win the PGA after collapsing last week v Rory. Did not want to see anyone attached to the LIV win and definitely didn’t want to see DeChambeau win. Great drama at the end. Hope it sets the stage for an equally great US Open

I’ll be rooting for IU to win every game but I think this year will be a learning experience for the staff as to what it takes to win at the big boy level. 5 wins but the foundation will be set for better days ahead

Just listened to an interview with Gottlieb. Not the ****** that many make him out to be. As far as coaching experience....he was a consultant to the Oklahoma State program this past year. Got to sit in on player meetings, planning meetings, and got to learn how to run a program. Also has coached multiple AAU teams--not necessarily a glowing resume, but has some experience. He understands his shortcomings. Because he is coaching at a lower level, he negotiated the time to be able to continue his nationally syndicated radio show every day. Due to this, he asked for much less money from UWGB so he could go out and hire and pay staff not normally seen in this level of a program. He is going to surround himself with people who can help him learn what he doesn't know. Don't get me wrong, I am not a Gottlieb fan. Not to the level of Dakich dislike, but closer to that than anything else. However, he did come across as being humble and willing to learn as he goes. Willing to spread the wealth to bring in qualified help. In a day of greed and me first, it's refreshing to hear this from a guy. Maybe, like all of us, he has matured and grown from the guy who stole credit cards 20+ years ago. -
Woodson has something that Archie never could, the experience in and the contacts with the NBA. He has used that to convince TJD to come back to IU. He used it to recruit JHS. He used it to acquire Ware, and probably Ballo. These guys don't stay at, or come to IU without the thought that Woodson knew what it takes to get to the league. Frankly, he probably is the only IU coach in my lifetime with the connections to the league that he has. I am not saying that translates to winning games at IU. I am saying it translates to attracting high end talent.

There is an intrinsic value to wearing the Candy Stripes, even if it’s just for one year. Be a good teammate and do your job when called upon and you become beloved by a fan base that can create lifelong relationships As much as he’s been criticized of late, Leal is a prime example. Not saying it’s the same as being a Notre Dame alum, but this guy could set himself up for success well beyond his time on a basketball court. -
Frankly, I find some of Davis' behaviors much more appalling than anything Woodson has said. The whole "I don't desreve to coach here" situation was such an embarrassment.

If we’re including Marion… Lyndon Jones

Really don’t care about how he acts. Not sure why it bothers some of you guys. Doesn’t affect you. Can’t do anything about it. If his actions have materially impacted your life, please share how
