So Happy It’s Thursday But in all reality… Wasn’t it about 100 pages back where Goodman was called a clown and discredited as a hack journalist? So why give any credibility to him now? -

I know that this would be post transfer portal. And I know he has supposedly been ruled out, but… Invite Beard to Bloomington for Little 5 weekend and if he passes the test, hire him immediately. :) -

You know, I didn’t say anything when you did it. You came on here and “informed “ everyone that I had been banned on another site. You had no idea what you were talking about. Karma’s a *****, isn’t it, Scotty? -

We have been missing the obvious hire since the minute it was announced that Woodson wouldn’t be returning. To my knowledge, the coach of the Harlem Globetrotters is undefeated. Can’t get any better than that, can we? -

Well, depending on where a person lives, close to 40% of that goes to taxes. Then there’s paying your agent and others in your circle. People making large incomes certainly think money matters. They are trying to set their families up with generational wealth. The difference between 1 and 5 million has a huge impact on the way people approach their lives -

Been thinking about this for a minute. If Tier 1 and 2 guys are all a hard “no”… just hear me out. Chris Collins was raised by a very successful NBA coach. Chris Collins played for an all-time great coach at Duke. He learned about winning, and was surrounded by winners. He was also that timeframe’s “player you hated most.” He would bring that toughness mentality we have been missing. Remember just a couple of seasons back when his backcourt was top notch defensively. Chris Collins has won at a place that historically never wins. He’s had to build teams while dealing with the academic restrictions that the university prides itself on.He has had little NIL support, and until recently, had to recruit players to play in a glorified high school gymnasium. Chris Collins is pretty smart guy. Duke has fairly high academic standards as well. I think he would be able to handle the fish bowl that is IU basketball. I would take Collins over McCollum , Schertz, Brownell, or several other of the tier 3-4 guys that have been mentioned here. The only other guy I might take above Collins is McDermott, however the age difference favors Collins. -

Yes and no. I get the idea that regular season is a long haul and shows sustained success. However, in the regular season you can pad your record with cupcake games and when you play conference games you are playing against familiar teams, style of play, and coaching tendencies. In the tournament, past the first round, there aren’t many cupcake and you usually are playing unfamiliar opponents, often with a 2 day turnaround between games. -

Your logic works pre conference realignment.. Two major power conferences now in the B1G and the SEC and TJO, Drew and Few aren’t in them. I could see any of those 3 wanting to move to a job in a conference that is going to dictate policies going forward rather than being along for the ride -

Too bad he’s no longer with us, RIP, but a game called by Bill Walton and Avery Johnson would have been a thing of beauty -

Next coach who has not been mentioned… Avery Johnson! -Available immediately, so checks that box. -Coaching experience in a major college conference, although with lackluster results. Did go to one NCAA tournament, so checks that box. -Was a better NBA coach, with 3 seasons of 50+ wins, so can relate to recruits what it takes to get to the league. Checks that box. -Would make Crean look like he was in quicksand on the sidelines. So there’s that. -And most importantly, was known as “The Little General “ as a player. That’s almost destiny, would bring the program full circle, and harken it back to its glory days! -

Having gone through several mergers, it’s been my experience that whatever was stated in the original contract will be honored by the acquiring firm. I would imagine that these bonus opportunities would be honored if he achieved the same benchmarks in the B1G -

So, I don’t keep track of this board and who is who. Either you aren’t a mod, which would explain this non response, or you are and as a mod you just don’t care. Neither puts you in a positive light -
