Wrong. This started because of the pushback that came from the FMW thread where everyone told people who had a different opinion to stop posting there. Shouldn’t the standards be the same for other threads?

And I read your posts and wonder, what kind of person is this? You literally called another person a POS. You also stated that you hoped that there was a “special place in hell” for people who you disagree with. I hope that whatever you did in your professional life that you didn’t have influence over others. I hope to hell you weren’t considered a mentor. You proudly posted that your kids and grandkids were close by and you were able to spend a lot of time with them. Would you be so proud if they read the stuff you post? But you be you.

Clearly double standards. For weeks, anyone who posted an opposing opinion on the FMW thread were told that “ this is the FMW thread.” Go post elsewhere. Unfortunately keeping threads to their topics only goes so far.

Glad Sterling posted what he did. Whether he’s right or not, his post at least got this thread back on point of discussing the coaching search instead of the people here who feel it necessary to bash Woodson in this thread. Thought there was a separate thread for that and too bad that the mods don’t steer posters who want to continue with the criticism to that thread. And since it seems any topic is open for conversation here. Today’s game certainly suggests that there are guys on our current roster who are worth keeping for the next regime. Played their hearts out today. People who have made the comment that they are done with the entire team and no one should be kept really need to rethink that opinion

Hopefully they recruit athletes who are skilled at the game of basketball. Seen too often the concept of bringing highly athletic guys who have no basketball skills or smarts.

Was there any time frame put on his post? And btw, UVA won in 2019. Hardly 10 years ago. Besides Guy, UNC had May and Montessori. Duke had the Plumlees. Sure there are others.

Recruiting high school guys to build your program entails risk. Are the recruits going to live up to the hype? Building your program via the portal entails risk. Will the guys mesh into a team? This year’s roster a good example of highly regarded players who don’t fit as a team. No one answer. I want a coach who can recruit for the future but who also can evaluate guys in the portal who fit and fill the void where we need help. If BS can do this, would be ecstatic. Would view this as a priority for anyone else to be considered.

If BS is off the table… McDermott on a 3-4 year contract. If he wants to retire afterwards, give him a nice retirement package. By then the whole Beard situation will be clear and if he’s clean, give him the keys to the program. If not, look to extend McDermott
