General Coach Candidate News

Human nature to gravitate to the worst case scenario. Dolson does have his guy.. Indiana ties Plenty of coaching years ahead of him Coached in both college and the NBA No skeletons in his closet that I’m aware of Lawrence Frank, c’mon down! -
Per my Facebook page, Tom Coverdale turned 45 today. Didn’t think his liver would last that long.

New Coach Preferred Characteristics

Does not like Diet Coke. Takes care of bathroom issues before entering a recruit’s home. Won’t collapse on the court or proclaim that they aren’t good enough to coach in the B1G. Understands that Cabrini Green (yes I know it doesn’t exist anymore) is not a fertile recruiting ground. Only enjoys a glass of wine and a good cigar after winning a natty. Shows up for every pre and post game interview and fosters a one sided relationship with his own Chuck Marlowe. Does not become a local radio jockey who is a legend in his own mind -

I would add 40 minutes of hell as an innovation to the college game. Nolan Richardson was the damn good architect for pressure defense -

Heard on the radio today that the Smellermakers rank 330th in inside defense. Woodson game plans to take advantage by starting Ballo, Reneau and Dallas. Plan works! We make 29 two point field goals. Unfortunately, Pork Chop has the answer as Dallas’ career IU game of 2 points and 1 rebound can’t negate the 18 threes from PU. I am a mostly positive thinker therefore I will ignore the fact that March 15th is the Ides of March which would portend that we are hiring a Brad —- Brownell. -

Just catching up after a full day. Thus far I have gleaned that: Jerry posted that there is a plan in place but concerned about leaks. Therefore, no one should be anywhere near Tom Crean, especially if he’s had a few Diet Cokes. If I hit my eyeball icon to show what the asterisks between Brad and Stevens really mean, it comes up as bwahaha Jersey envisions himself as this forum’s Forrest Gump with the perfect buttocks Cronin needs his heart to grow 3 times between now and when Dolson makes a decision if he wants any chance of coming to Bloomington. Pearl is getting royalties from his local tanning salon for promoting the bang up job they do. Miss anything? -

It's become evidently clear that, unless the hire is BS, there are going to be unhappy folks regardless. IMO, we are not a blue blood program anymore. Can we restore that? Possibly. Should we be turning our collective noses up at highly qualified candidates that check most, but not all the boxes? I don't think our cache these days warrants that. I hope whoever is named the next head coach is given some time to acclimate and get a chance to instill his culture before any part of the fanbase turns sour. -

Looking at this from a different perspective… I propose a coaching staff made up of posters on this forum. Just hear me out… HC—none other than Scotty R. He’d resurrect the motion offense. Make sure there were 4 passes before we shoot. Would have us wearing the retro short shorts from the 80’s- only program to do so, and the younger generations would go ape sh!t over them, bringing in tremendous marketing dollars. Scotty would need a recruiting/portal coordinator. With the tremendous amount of basketball he watches, @Uspshoosier has to be that guy. No one would ever accuse Scotty of winning the press conference, so @Home Jersey will make sure that the grammar is at least passable Finally, gonna need a GM. Someone to keep Scotty on track when his inclination is to go off on everyone and their brother. Probably the most level headed poster here @BGleas is the guy for the job. I think this staff would make history. Save Dolson tons of money as well that he could divert to Cig, Moren, baseball, etc. -

Just think that the board should stay true to each thread topic. And no, don’t need to be shown up by some smart azz . Pretty much everyone on here has come to the conclusion that the Woodson experiment failed and that he needs to be gone. For months, anyone who posted a different opinion on the FMW thread were told that “ this is the FMW thread. Go post your opinion elsewhere.” Now, when it’s suggested that the Coach search thread should be limited to posts about the Coach search, and not rehashing the Woodson fiasco, you react like you always have and make a smart azz comment. Funny how it doesn’t work both ways here. -
