Build. Looks like he will provide a toughness we haven’t had for a while. Looks like a matchup nightmare. Having 2 years of eligibility doesn’t hurt either -

I don’t know that we’ll see another defensive minded player as good as Reynolds play in Bloomington again. Very limited offensively, but an elite defender. He, Buckner and Wilkerson were the best defensive guards to wear the Candystrpes in my lifetime -

All this angst over Bailey not being able to handle B1G centers on defense.. Wracking my brain to come up with other teams in conference who have centers who could pose problems. Michigan maybe? But Freeman is really a guy who plays like Bailey. Out quicked Ballo and Reneau last year. Not a post up or power center. Wisconsin maybe? But their bigs like to step out and shoot 3’s as much as posting up. Same with the guy at Oregon. Purdue and MSU seem to me to be the only teams that have strong inside players. However to me TKR Is more crafty than being a power player. Spart’s guys come at you in waves and would present the biggest challenge. Would definitely need reinforcements there. -

Just as a point of reference. There were multiple people here who took pleasure in IU’s failures in order to get Woodson fired. Could be why there’s a degree of skepticism when the criticism ramps up about a coach who has been here less than a month -

Bailey was recruited to play the 5 and he is going to be expected to do much more than the role you laid out -

Not sure of your point. You said that the state is not an attractive place to live for pro athletes. I pointed out that there are some who find it a good place to live. Was not trying to compare to anywhere else. -

I know of multiple professional athletes or ex-pros, who live on one of the lakes in NE Indiana. -
What? You mean Painter “whiffed” on a kid?

I wouldn’t characterize either of the recruiting misses as “whiffs.” Both situations included extenuating circumstances. Had it just been that we were outbid, or a guy flat out stated that he preferred someone else, that’s a whiff. When a guy’s mom has significant health issues, or when he has family connected to a city that the guy can play in front of— in quite possibly his last season playing ball, those aren’t whiffs. Glad for those two players who seem to have their priorities straight and realize that family is the most important factor in their lives -
