I agree on doing both, if he has the time to develop the high school guys. He has brought in multiple 5 star guys and re-recruited an All-American. Not sure how you define recruiting but in my opinion it has not been “chit”

Get what you are saying to a point, but… if there is such a great sense of angst then wouldn’t it be more prudent to get guys who are going to help immediately rather than high school guys who might take some time to be competitive?

So, you have been at practice and the late nights in the office so you know what is going on? Glad to see this board has insiders who have their thumbs on the pulse

You sure about that? Despise is a pretty harsh term. Maybe in 20 years or so when those of us who remember how great these guys were are gone, you’ll have a leg to stand on. Too bad you don’t have the history to know what they were about

Understand about being younger and having never experienced the IU program I went to school with and since…I was there through 1979. I’m a lifetime Alumni Club member and have donated tons over the years. More than ever I want to see our program restored to what it once was. My only goal here is to bring some balance. I get it that this year has been bad so far. However, I also know that the last two years we made the tournament, which we hadn’t in the 6 previous seasons. Did the tournament appearances satisfy this fan base? Hardly. Was it an improvement? Absolutely. Those two seasons brought some semblance of positivity to the program. And the way I understand it, TJD and Race were gone until Woodson convinced them to come back. He also developed a pipeline with Montverde that brought us JHS. Imagine where the last two seasons would have been without those guys. CMW has a story he can tell… he knows what it takes to get to the NBA. High level talent wants to hear that. Now he has to learn to bring in other guys who are going to be around 3-4 years to compliment the one and done guys. I think he has earned another year. Impatient and rash decisions don’t make for a successful program. Sorry for the long post, and to clarify these are just my opinions

Hurt me? Give me a break. Just wondering if you really were serious or just angry

You think Cupps doesn’t play his tail off on defense?

Is your legacy here even 1/1000th the legacy of Woodson and Buckner?

I am new here and not familiar with you. Do you post from a position of knowing something, or are these just your opinions?

I was a student during that blizzard. Campus was heated by coal at the time and the fear was that they would run out. Spring Break became 3 weeks to keep the heating bill down. In my program someone went to California and decided not to come back. Lived in a second floor apartment. The drifts were so high that we could jump off our balcony right into the snow. Groceries, and more importantly beer, were at a premium. To make up the missed class work, Saturday morning classes were held. Made going to the bars on Friday night a little more of a challenge

New to this forum. First post, in fact. Wondering what the heck I have to do to get rid of the ads. Buy something I guess? To the point. What does Woodson’s age have to do with anything? There is a thing called ageism that could create problems for the university if it ever came to light that being 66 was being used against him I also find it really interesting that the football program just hired a 62 year old as the next head coach and that the hire has been met with nothing but excitement. I get it that there’s a 4 year difference but it sure feels like the facts are being skewed to meet the agenda
