Especially with the pot of $$ IU has to offer, a guy could certainly use “IU interest “ as a form of leverage.

    New Forum

I want a coaching change as well. And I do see value in the topic in that it allows people to vent. However, it’s become a perfect illustration of insanity… saying the same things over and over again and hoping for a different outcome.. My hope is that this thread gets shelved until it becomes apparent next year that the topic is relevant again

It still makes me laugh that some in the younger crowd think, and are being marketed to, that PBR is a premium beer.

Frankly, I don't see the importance as much on being a starter. To me, the number of minutes played, and whether a guy is on the floor in crunch time are more important than being in the starting 5.

Between the poor defense v Utah, and frankly their season long metrics weren't so good, and the disastrous end of game last night, I would want to see more and better coaching from Schertz to ever consider him as the head coach at IU.

Yes, the announcers last night made reference that neither team was very good defensively. ISU was 108th in defensive metrics this year. As much fun as their offensive style is, Schertz is going to have to learn to coach better defense if he wants to move up the coaching ladder.

    They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

Interesting conversation on ESPNU radio this morning. Rick Neuheisel was suggesting that Cal is on his way out, and that the logical replacement would be Dan Hurley. That the power, as we well know, will be centered on the SEC and B1G, and that Hurley needs to get to one of those conferences. He also stated that the AD at UConn is a finalist for the Arizona St. open AD position, that the guy was born and raised in Tempe, and that he is trying his best to get to a school with a real football program. Neuheisel went on to state that if the AD left UConn, any allegiances Hurley would have there would be gone as well. The Cal is gone thought was just Neuheisel's opinion, but if the thought that Hurley could be had next year is accurate, and if in fact this is Woodson's last hurrah, do y'all have any faith that IU would make a push to hire Hurley?

Would you rather take a guy just to soothe the fan angst, or would you rather properly vet guys and get a quality player? I don’t know whether Woodson is going to be successful with his portal strategy but I sure as heck want to make sure he does his due diligence and gets guys who can make a difference. His track record has not been good, I understand that. Time to put up.

The guy played for a train wreck of a team under board favorite Kenny Payne. Is this an indictment or a blessing in disguise?

The guy that covers IU for the FW Jounal-Gazette mentioned that we recently hosted a 6’8” wing from France, Diamant Brazil. The article said that he is a “ high level athlete and late riser in the class.” Anyone know anything about him or the visit?

Omaha Biliew 5 star PF and 13th ranked recruit in 2023 has entered the portal. Don't know what's going on with Iowa State, but they have 4 guys that have entered the portal since being eliminated. These guys getting recruited over, or is there an issue with the coach?

    They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

Didn't someone post a few pages back that only about 30 guys have committed who entered the portal? Maybe it was in the transfer portal thread. Not yet time to be concerned. After the games this weekend, there may be more guys entering. Iowa State for one just had some guys enter.

    IU Basketball News and Notes

Agree. And his shooting percentage was a function of his having to handle the ball so much as well as having to guard the opposing team’s best player. Take some of that load off his shoulders and I bet his shooting numbers get closer to what 2 years ago was
