They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

And , that’s what is wrong with this forum. Supposed “fans” rooting against IU because winning doesn’t fit their agenda -
They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

Michigan gives up 90 to Toledo. Dusty doesn’t know how to coach defense. Imagine the meltdown if this was an IU game/score. Man, what we missed out on -

They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

Even though I am on the record saying this thread is over the top in criticism of CMW—let the season play out and then decide—-at least for some time it focused on the coach. Now, for some reason, this has become a place to dissect and tear down the roster.Criticizing the players, some before they’ve played one minute in the cream and crimson. If this thread has a function, how about keeping to the topic? Maybe let the guys perform before passing judgement. -
The Most Underrated Winning Players in IUBB History

Wayne Redford. First Indianapolis recruit by RMK. Had a few shining moments in the Buckner/May/Benson et al era. Really blossomed in the 2 years following the undefeated season. Upset MSU when Magic was a freshman and outscored him 23-21 while guarding him much of the game -
B1G MVP 1979. IU HOF. Great quarterback while I was a student-1977-80. Died at age 66.

I drove to, of all places, Lubbock, Texas to watch the first round NIT game between IU and Texas Tech in 1979. We won, and went on to win that tournament on a last second shot by Butch Carter over hated rival Purdue. We stormed Showalter Fountain as if we had just won a natty. Butch was revered on campus for the rest of his time at IU because of that one shot

Thanks for the hand slap. So glad to know this forum is watched over by folks who have their thumbs on the pulse. -
Braylon Mullins (2025) SG - to UConn

Wasn’t here years past. No knowledge of what that was. Only know what I’ve read in the last year. Which is a bunch of guys finding any reason to criticize the coach. Don’t care about Hurley, don’t care about his recruiting success. Frankly, don’t care about Mullins, now that he has made his decision. Angst and meltdown aren’t really that close on whatever spectrum they fall on. I never thought that the board was in full meltdown over this decision. Angst is a better word for it and I fully think it fits in this situation -

Agreed… And there was nothing wrong with pointing out that there is a lot of angst and hand wringing in both threads over it. Which was my point to begin with -

You’re not serious, right? A good part of that thread focuses on his missing out on supposed “must have “ recruits. -

Maybe… maybe not. Sure seems to me like there’s a lot of angst between this thread and the FMW thread over missing out on this guy -

Agree, but a sense of humor is always welcome in situations like this. Helps to diffuse some of the emotions -

On one of the other sites there was a guy who had a meme of a plunger and a toilet, and whenever a recruit chose elsewhere, the thread was flushed. Could use that here… along with the ability to use emojis. -

IU with Rourke, 41-28 Iu without Rourke 24-28. -
With all the money from BTN, Fox, CBS, etc., a $5 million difference between Nike and Adidas is peanuts. Has minimal impact on the athletic budget
-
Maybe so, but Oregon is in Nike’s backyard and is Phil Knight’s pet project.
-
IIRC, we had an excellent midrange player a couple of years ago who torched PUke and became a 1st round draft pick
-
Now that Oregon is in the B1G, I’m glad we’re not a Nike school. Would always be second fiddle at best.
-
Another Game Day option… Lilly King. Would love to see her get some attention
-
Getting back to the who from IU is going to be on the GameDay set.... Don't forget, Corso is part of the broadcast. He was the coach when I was a student and he did some hilarious, and some stupid antics. I could see Lee be part of the representing of IU. Would love to see him don the IU head as his game pick.
