Fwiw. If you are a part of the BOT or connected to them, I appreciate your willingness to share some of the inner workings of the organization. I believe you are trying to share what you can, but I also acknowledge that it’s a political position and tenuous at best. If you are a decision maker, the hope is that you hear what this part of the fan base feels. I think that by your engaging here, you understand. But I fully understand if you feel your hands are tied. Thanking you for stepping out to post here, but also not 100% convinced that we are not being conned

You lost me when you called out Leal. The guy sat on the bench for 3+ years and did nothing but support his teammates. He finally has gotten his chance to play and he has done a serviceable job. In fact I believe he was integral in winning a game. As a business owner who makes sure that 40 families are able to survive, try to put in perspective that those 40 people would maybe lay on a grenade for you just like Leal has done for his coach.

Agree that keeping his emotions in check is a sign of being professional. Also acknowledging that being salty shows a level of arrogance that most coaches have. He’s gonna go down fighting for sure

I have been on this board for almost 3 weeks. I can’t recall you saying one thing positive about IU basketball. Not just on this thread about the coach, but any thread. Surely, there is somewhere in the past where you supported IU

Been on multiple IU fan boards. This is the only one where being a fan for more than 40 years is condescended to. Please don’t. Please understand that much of the financial support for the NIl or through the Alumni Club comes from the “blue haired rah rags.” How would you like me to stereotype you. The generation that doesn’t know what is going on at the games because you’re too busy looking at your phone? Wonder if you paid your tuition through school or were you helped by older generations who provided for you. The blue hairs could be your parents and are most definitely your grandparents. Are you going to typecast them that way?

So, it looks like we will play Penn State, and if we win that game, Nebraska. Not the most daunting schedule but teams we lost to. Whatever happens, happens. Regardless of the off the court stuff, if we win those two I don’t see how Woodson is fired

My first venture into IU fandom was watching the Steve Downing led team get screwed v UCLA. I am right there with you. Still, do you want to root on guys who stand up for their coach and university? Regardless if they stepped on toes, they care enough to speak out. Neither you or I know that they were encouraged to say what they did by Woodson. Maybe they were. Again, the other side of the coin is that people have been critical about bringing in a bunch of guys in the portal who have no real connection to IU. So which is it?

Did you read about him screaming at the Duke assistant coach on the court. Calling their cheerleaders ugly? What head coach does that? Crean went after assistant coaches from Michigan and that was definitely held against him. Don’t know of any coach calling out an opponent’s cheerleaders

Yes Doherty had one great season, with the previous coach’s players. And yes, his character flaws were part of what led to his firing.

Not policing the board. Trying to understand people here. Complaints that bringing in a bunch of portal guys equates to “hiring mercenaries.” Then you have guys who have played here for 4 years and are loyal to their program and coach, and they get ripped. Lime I said, trying to understand the dynamics of this place

Regardless of what guys bring to the table or contribute on the floor, the anger at Woodson doesn’t need to be redirected to the players. Imagine your own work place. Are you going to be better off or worse for publicity criticizing the CEO/owner/boss or whatever. Appreciate the frustration over the situation. Don’t think taking it out on the players is the solution though

You mean like the double digit assists Galloway had the last few games? I get being anti-Woodson. I thought you were supposed to be the guy on this forum. But comments like this, attacking players, is way beneath what you were supposed to be
