They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

Difference between choosing not to watch and having other obligations. BTW, I did record and watch. Maybe think of other options before assuming anything. But then, you know that, right? -

you guys have an infatuation on calling me out. Busy time of year. Other things in life take priority. Sorry I can't live up to the high expectations of this board. Thanks for the snark, regardless. Wouldn't expect anything less. -

Didn’t watch. Office Christmas party. I did read that we scored 1 point over the last several minutes. No excuse to lose this game. No excuse for this staff and team. BTW. I do show up here when they lose and take being called out. Funny how most of the posters were on this thread were absent from the conversation after the positive performance v Minnesota. -

IUFB Offseason Updates

Regardless, I think we should at least be playing 1 P4 opponent out of conference each year. No right to criticize the SEC schools if we don’t, even if they play one less conference game. As well, as the stature of the program continues to grow I think it will be imperative for season ticket sales to not start every season with three substandard opponents -

Schedules can be changed. We dropped Louisville and replaced them with lesser competition. Can be done to improve competition as well -

Challenging conference schedule. Surprised we get UCLA again and not USC. Very disappointed in the non conference schedule. More fodder for the critics if it comes to that -
This morning, on Sirius NFl Network, a guy who I respect deeply, Bill Polian was discussing the future landscape of college football and was part of a conversation about whether Belichick could make it as a college coach. Polian evidently has been a part of these discussions and said that they are set to go into place next June. In summary… - There will be a salary cap for each team of somewhere between $13-15 million a year, which is less than what some programs are currently paying. I think this is why you are seeing programs like Stanford hiring a General Manager. - There will also be NIL, but it will absolutely require athletes to work for their stipends, v the sham pay to play that exists now. - The portal period will be narrowed significantly and there will be an independent board to oversee the process and rule on situations when necessary. These were the major points he brought up on a show that is supposed to be geared towards the NFL. May be more, and certainly is just the first step to try to get this under some semblance of control.

Not going to get drawn into this too deeply, too busy. But don't forget that both TJD and Race were headed out the door when Archie was fired. Woodson and staff convinced them to come back. Both improved their games afterwards. -
IUFB 2024/25 Portalstravaganza
steubenhoosier replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
The portal officially opens today. Lots of names being entered. some P4 guys we might have interest in, especially on the O-line. -
Of courseNBC would. They have been in bed with ND for quite a few years
-
My whole argument was based on 3 transfer guards in the last 4 seasons and whether they came to IU to die..lol.
-
I hope so too.
-
My bad. I thought the conversation was about coming to IU to die. Like for an entire season. Not just a few games. Wait until the season is over and then we can talk. Because in the last 4 years the only transfer guards have who might fit the description is Stewart. No basis to the claim otherwise.
-
Don’t know. Have not played a conference game yet and haven’t watched enough of other teams
-
Of course. My only point is that there’s no proof in the last few years that transfer guards have come to IU to die.
-
Not sure of your question
-
The stats you say he’s down in are really close to last year and he’s played almost 5 less minutes a game. His shooting percentages aren’t even close, they are exceedingly better. Something must be working to have his 2 pt. fg% up 7 and 3 pt. up 14%.
-
The only other transfer guards who have played meaningful minutes in the last 4 years are X and Parker Stewart. Stewart was only here 1 year and between his dad dying and the step up in competition, not sure he could have been expected to do better. X’s statistics while at IU were as good if not better than at Pitt. Shooting % up. Assists up. Turnovers less. His one full season at IU looked very similar to his 3 at Pitt. Unfortunately, the other two years were cut short by injuries. Hard to say he came to IU and died.

Credit where it’s due
-
Myles Rice is better in almost every meaningful statistic than last year playing almost 5 minutes less per game.

No schtick. You guys are hilarious. Make a disagreeing comment and the wagons start circling. If you read my posts, I wasn’t defending QB or CMW. But this has devolved into character attacking, which I have mentioned previously.
