They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

Understand… faith that Dolsen is in control and a change will happen regardless of what happens this season -
Our defense played better v OSU than ND is currently playing

They also say it takes 10,000 repetitions to perfect something. This thread is at 33,000+ posts . Taking away the positive posts from a few, including myself for a while, we have perfected the concept of Woodson needs to go. -

Oh, I get it. The argument I don’t buy into is that the IU administration is going to screw things up based on past mistakes. Different regime. Different circumstances. Faith is a fleeting concept here. -

Everyone wants Woodson gone-1000%. Why wouldn’t everyone want this team in the tournament? The two concepts don’t have to be exclusive of each other. -

Minnesota- beat Michigan PSU- beat Purdue UCLA beat Oregon USC beat Illinois The conference has no excellent team but anyone can win a game against anyone else. Interesting to see how the selection committee looks at this -

Read my post. I did not ignore the style of play comment, specifically saying that it was outdated. Read my post. I specifically limited where I thought Woodson developed guys to the bigs. I agree wholeheartedly that wings and guards, for the most part have been underserved. I say for the most part because I don’t know how much of JHS’ improvement was due to coaching, and how much was natural talent -

There are a lot of reasons Woodson’s should be gone, and I agree that his style of play is not where today’s game is. However to say that guys haven’t developed under him, at least the bigs, is patently false. TJD became a much better player under Woodson. Race as well, to a lesser extent. Ware went from being non-motivated and a waste to a 1st round draft pick. Reneau has improved in his 3 years here. As I said, there are so many reasons why we need a coaching change. Don’t need to invent stuff to make a case. -

Thanks for the clarification. Given that Michigan just lost to Minnesota, there is a possibility that we don’t get rolled. -

The funeral in Calbert’s family definitely puts things on hold. A smart pr move would be to announce whatever the plan is while the spotlight is elsewhere. Say, in the midst of the college football national championship noise. The optics wouldn’t matter so much because the announcement would be lost in all the football hype -

Have not posted in this thread today until now, and know how this is going to be received, but gotta say it anyway. This is the FMW thread. One that I wholeheartedly support and am on board with. It devolved into a “let’s rip the players “ conversation. And it grew like wildfire. I get it. These guys are getting paid…a lot. They are still young guys who are not going to be consistent from day to day. Hell, were you at age 19-24? I wasn’t. Calling guys soft. I have said we need more toughness, but anyone who is willing to put their bodies through what it takes to play at this level is hardly soft. Woodson deserves the criticism and whatever fate he gets. Too bad that the folks who chose to denigrate the players can’t put aside their bile and congratulate some players who played their azzes off tonight. -

Can’t remember which of the knuckleheads it was. When Dakich was named coach he called out the guys for skipping class, smoking and whoring. Whoever it was didn’t like being held responsible and he picked up a flower pot and threw it at DD Doing a Google search, it was Eli Holman -

One of the saddest things about this whole situation is that Don Fischer has to put up a brave face and support the team. He’s 77 and has devoted 2/3rds of his life to IU.Definitely deserves better -

Not talking about now. Sampson’s guys were doing a lot worse than what has happened recently. He brought in a bunch of guys with really sketchy backgrounds. There was a huge chasm between DJ , Gordon and the other guys
