If the barometer for success in high school recruiting is bringing in five 5* recruits a class then every other coach in America is bad at landing top high school talent. The emphasis on long, drawn out recruitments is no longer a thing. Hurley recruited Mullins for what 3-4 months? The portal allows you to improve your roster every single offseason with proven players rather than relying on 18-10 year old freshman. I'm sorry this doesn't fit your narrative. Staff missed out on Fland and Queen last Fall and ended up with Rice and Ballo instead. Want to wager the latter outperforms the former?
