Trent Sisley is an Outstanding Hoosier and (2025) SG - to UConn Thread
AH1971 replied to Barrel Rick's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Are we sure Luke Goode won't be back? Played in only 10 games his sophomore year due to injury and have heard he is potentially eligible for a medical redshirt giving him a 5th season. -
Flurry of offers since. Northwestern, Virginia Tech and West Virginia have all offered in the last 24 hours as well. Koehler is going to be a high-major play.
-
Was just offered by Stanford today. He’s an intriguing prospect and may not be done growing. I think he has a higher ceiling than Sisley.
-
His AAU stats were terrible. Averaged 3 ppg and shot worse than 20% on Team Renaissance with RJ Davis and Jonathan Kuminga. He averaged 26 ppg in Pittsburgh and was the Pennsylvania POY his senior season. Guessing Pittsburgh HS basketball is extremely bad.

If .500 is considered average, what else would you call a coach who is slightly above .500? I'm not sure what you're taking exception too lol. -

These people would lead you to believe Woodson's tenure has rivaled Crean's first 3 seasons. It's laughable. I think people forget Woodson has a winning record against Brad Underwood and is .500 against Izzo and Painter. Those three are widely considered the three best coaches in the B10. He certainly hasn't blown expectations out of the water through 3 years, but far from the dope many are making him out to be. The crux of the situation is that you had several people on this board fall for the rumors that Woodson was out and was going to be replaced with Bruce Pearl. So many people got their hopes up only to have that dream crushed by the administration and it's turned into complete mob rule ever since. Winning cures all and I'm sure with a good showing this year a large majority of the crybabies will come around, but I'm afraid there will still be a good portion who have doubled and tripled down and will stay miserable just because. Every fan base has those types. -

No coach would have won consistently at the level IU plays at with last years guard play. And while that doesn't excuse the staff, they've obviously addressed it this year. My father was a high school basketball coach once upon a time and still reminds me from time to time that Gene Keady at a coaching clinic once said, "Good coaching accounts for about 3-4 wins a year, the rest comes from the talent surrounding you". -

Our pieces didn't fit last year because we had zero guard play. We're at the point where we almost have too many guards. There are dozens of guard/wing combinations we can trot out next season that are all effectively better than our best combination last year. It's more than a good problem to have. -

Ironic to say the least given all the tears and tantrums displayed by you and others the last several months. -

I wouldn't be happy but would need to know more to be swayed one way or the other. Was it against the 2 seed or a 15 seed? Were we competitive? Did we choke? Did we lose by 30? Kind of hard to put a hard benchmark requirement on such a crap shoot event such as the NCAA tournament. I'd honestly be more disappointed that we were a 7 seed over losing in the 2nd round. That's my opinion. -

Jesus that's not all what he said. He said finishing 4th or 5th in the conference and reaching the S16 was a bare minimum requirement. -

Wow....reading isn't your thing is it? I was asked a simple question I answered it. Competing for a B10 championship should net a 1-4 seed with that seed ultimately depending on how strong the conference is and how well IU performs in the non-conference. That is my expectation for the upcoming season. I don't think that's a low bar. But I'm also a realist, Mike Woodson isn't getting fired if he makes the tournament as a 5, 6 or 7 seed, just putting that to rest now. It may be enough for him to retire on a semi-high note, but no sane administration is going to fire a coach who has taken a team to the tournament in 3/4 seasons, and I don't care what school it is. It would be of my personal opinion to move on from Woodson if he misses the tournament altogether or underachieves in the regular season to the point the team receives a low seed and loses in the first round, but again my opinion alone. Never said I would be ok with a 5, 6, 7 seed as the other poster so eloquently put it, but it wouldn't put me in the Fire Woodson camp. Sorry to the rest if this is repetitive but hopefully your brain reciprocates this go-around. -

Lol. I literally posted my expectations for the season. I also answered what I thought would warrant a termination. Ultimately, it's not an either/or situation. Would I be happy with a 6-7 seed? Probably not. Would I act like a child and yell "Fire Woodson" in every post for 3+ months? I don't think I would. My expectations for this upcoming have nothing to do with the direction Indiana ultimately goes in regards to Woodson. I just know he's not getting fired if he's a 5 or 6 seed in the coming tournament. -

I would not Fire Mike Woodson if his team received a 5 seed, no. Would a 6-7 seed mirror some disappointment? Yes most likely, not sure it would warrant an automatic termination though. The question you asked is completely different from the one I answered. -

Compete for a B10 championship and make the 2nd weekend of the tournament. From there, anything can happen. Missing the tournament altogether should be an automatic termination. Underachieving throughout the regular season and losing in R1 as an 8-12 seed and I'd probably agree that it's time to move on. -

Archie had good players and never made the tournament. Woodson did better with Archie's players than Archie himself. -

I was more so alluding to the ridiculous assertion made by HF20017 that IU didn't enter into the gray area and that Archie was bad only because his hands were tied. Utter nonsense. -

Archie was literally spoon fed a top 5 recruit who was bought, paid, and steered to IU by Adidas. What gray area are you talking about? -

I think landing two bigs who exhaust their eligibility after this season paves the way for immediate playing time to somebody like Malachi Moreno. Staff should be all-in on him and Mullins this summer. -

Or.... He only targets freshman that he believes can contribute from day 1 and uses the portal otherwise to land players who are seasoned and don't need 2-3 years to develop. The portal and NIL has completely changed the landscape of college basketball and the dynamics in recruiting and the philosophy on how it is approached.
