Reading sure is a skill. Where did I ever doubt his ability to coach /win? Assuming he's 100% committed to the job along with all the nuances of being a college head coach (which are different than being an NBA head coach and executive), sure sign him up. I'm questioning his commitment because every career move he has made suggests he's committed to being a college head coach. I'm not asking for you to agree with my opinion either.

How are they made up concerns? Every career move he has made suggests otherwise. How many guys leave college for the NBA and come back successful or come back at all?

I think the questions surrounding Stevens have little to do with his resume. Does he have the drive to get back into college coaching? Is he prepared to recruit not just locally but nationally 8-9 months out of the year? Does he want to babysit 18-22 year old college students? I think these are all legitimate concerns and a big reason why he transitioned out of college and out of coaching altogether. I don't want Stevens here unless he's 110% committed, rather than simply fulfilling some childhood dream.

That would seem to be like the most likely scenario. Team isn't due to play at home until 1/26 with two road games prior. Lose both and I would guess there is some kind of announcement regarding Woodson's future before they tip off.

An alias? You mean this isn't the real Tasmanian Devil? Nah, just my first and last initials. You're giving me way too much credit lol. Simply a fan who thought Woodson deserved a 4th season and the chance to turn it around. I wasn't quite ready to join the mob last offseason.

I’ve already answered that, but yes time to move.

The concerns with guys like May and McCollum have very little to do with X's and O's.

He's a really good coach from an X's and O's standpoint. He's also a maniac. His preference to retool in the portal every single season isn't sustainable at a job like Indiana where expectations are sky high every single season. He was shot out of a cannon at Arkansas and crashed and burned even faster. X's and O's are a fraction of what it takes to be successful here...but you knew that.

I listed the consensus favorites which of course are : Stevens, Pearl, and May. Of the three, I would only consider Pearl to be a home run hire. I have several reservations with both Dusty May and Brad Stevens. Doesn't mean they couldn't win here, but wouldn't shock me if they didn't. I think Musselman could handle the noise and expectations but I don't think his style is sustainable. Plus I don't think fans would like him.

Probably. It still wouldn't be good enough though.

I do not believe Brad Stevens or Dusty May or Bruce Pearl will be interested in the IU job but I don't think that's really going out on a limb. I have talked myself into Chris Beard over the last few weeks...don't see the admin taking that approach however. I think Chris Mack deserves a second chance somewhere, I would be ok if that place was here. Names like Ben McCollum, Bucky McMillan, Micah Shrewsbury, Josh Schertz, etc are all names that have all been floated around for some time now. I believe the next hire is much likely to come from that candidate pool. I don't think any of those guys would have a prayer here.

I'd rather go on a cross-country trip with my ex-wife... No offense Kathy, I'm sure you're great.

Uh no. Fans who can't control their emotions lie solely on the individual. Are you serious right now?

I don't think anybody is actually going to harm anybody either, but these same people suggesting it could happen are going to be the same people left dumbfounded once Stevens (again), May, Pearl, etc all say "No" to IU. We'll end up hiring the next lucky up and comer who has zero experience managing these kinds of expectations or fan base and be right back here in another 3-4 years only under a new thread title. Rinse, wash, repeat

So somebody is going to physically harm Woodson and/or somebody from the team and yet this fan base wonders year after year why we can't ever hire anybody worth a salt? Yeah tone deaf. And I'm out on Woodson by the way, so you don't need to ask 1000x over.

Dusty May is a missed Memphis box out away from still being a complete unknown.

Woodson winning with Archie’s players more than Archie did himself accurately portrays the state of the program when Woodson took over. Thanks for clearing that up.

Leading scorer was out Wednesday night as well and they beat Penn St like a drum. USC has competed well with teams like Michigan and Oregon already this season. They have a really good coach and present a lot of problems for teams with their length and athleticism. Not many gimmies this year in the B10 outside Minnesota.

Did I say that? I said it was patently ridiculous to say IU was in a worse place today than it was during Archie’s tenure. You said that, not me.

Who the hell cares? Nobody had NIL in either of those coaches 3rd seasons.
