    JohnnysRick over at Rivals.

Will Wade wasn't eligible to coach right away. A P4 school wasn't going to hire somebody who wasn't eligible to be on the sideline. McNeese St could afford to do that....because it's McNeese State. Will Wade will be coaching at a high major school next year, one that is better than Ole Miss.

The fact that Dolson identified Fitzgerald as his first target at least gives me some hope. His alleged transgressions are way worse than anything Wade has been guilty of.

Powerless in todays world. Will Wade would absolutely kill it at IU in this climate. Thick-skinned, doesn't give a s*** what people think, flat-out winner. But yeah let's hire Brad Brownell because he's a pro's pro whose never won anything. If Brad Brownell was from across the river in Henderson KY instead of Evansville he'd be an after thought.

Strong-@$$ offers is literally the name of the game in college basketball these days. And he's one of the best at it. Dude is a flat out winner. That's who I want leading this program, not some nice guy I want at my backyard bbq.

Because he was serving a 2 year show-cause and sat out part of his first season. He won't be there after this season. McNeese State is 46-9 since Will Wade was hired...they had two winning seasons in the 20 years prior.

If we're simply talking basketball acumen and potential ceilings at IU, Wade blows every single one of those guys out of the water. Brad Brownell? Seriously?

None of those guys are better basketball coaches than Will Wade lol.

    1. My comment was in reference to the potential pool of candidates once May and Stevens inevitably say no. Pearl, Drew, Wright, Donovan, McDermott, Buzz pick any other delusional candidate that isn't coming to IU. Will Wade is better than any realistic candidate that IU is likely going to hire. 2. We're looking for the next basketball coach, not your future son in-law

Never a good thing when your custodial staff is better than any potential candidate you could hope to hire.

I'm fully aware of his past transgressions. It's a complete non-starter for me given the circumstances and current nature of the sport. He's served out his punishment and has earned a second chance.

*Broke rules that no longer exist nor are no longer enforceable If Sampson wanted to come back to IU, sure sign him up. He'd hit the ignore button before the 2nd ring though.

None of those guys except for Brownell (who isn't better than Wade by a long shot) or Beard (who IU won't hire) are leaving their current jobs to come to IU. And why would they? In my opinion, the three best coaches who would actually take the IU job if offered are (in this order): Beard, Wade, Mack

Long enough. -42 years old -.700 career winning % -Won regular season championships in three different conferences -Taken three different schools to the NCAAT

You defended Woodson all Summer and literally changed your handle because of it lol.

He won damn near 70% of his games there including the SEC championship and finished 2nd and 3rd as well. All in a 5 year span. We're talking about LSU.

Speaks volumes that you need to be convinced that a guy who has already turned down the job to the tune of 7 years $70 million is going to do it again lol.

This board is in for a rude awakening 6 or so weeks from now despite what you’ve been told for months by the self-proclaimed important people on this board. When May signs that extension with Michigan and Stevens turns us down (again), going to have to pivot fast. You’re talking guys like Ben McCollum, Bucky McMillan, Josh Schertz, etc who are complete crapshoots as next tier candidates. Give me Will Wade over those three in a heartbeat, assuming someone else doesn’t beat us to the punch.

I've never pretended to be a self-important person. That's the difference.

The dedication to keeping the Steven's dream alive is admirable. But you aren't actually serious.

Trolling? No. But I needed the laugh. When people say this fan base is delusional, those are the types of posts that get referenced.

Nobody seems to be mentioning Will Wade or Chris Mack. Former P5 guys with success who are re-inventing themselves after being put in timeout. Those are actual realistic candidates who would seriously consider IU if offered.

Why are so many of these self-described "important" people such babies?

Mike Woodson could “resign” tomorrow and would still coach until IU plays its last game. If you were expecting the administration to forcefully remove Woodson from the sideline before the season ended, well I’m sorry that you fell for the “bits and nuggets”. There’s literally no prior precedent at IU for firing a coach in the middle of the season for meddling performance. #Facts
