I go to an away event a year, the first being the Great Alaskan Shootout when we bowed out to Dwayne Wade. Always have. East Coast Millennials with an opinion who don’t have a clue about this storied program always gives me a kick.

I told this board 4 weeks ago Stevens wasn’t coaching IU. Put me down for a check mark in the track record.

You’re investing a lot in Cronin. Buyout, salary bump, etc….IU doesn’t do that=risky McCollum is your safe bet, run of the mill salary $3-4mil/yr guy Knowing IU, they will take the latter every time.

How about we worry about making the tournament every year before we start worrying about banner 6. To think IU is too good for Bo Ryan or Matt Painter level results given the last 30 years is utterly ridiculous.

Could buy out Cronin, pay him $7mil/yr for 6 years, and still spend less than the reported offer out to Stevens. Wild.

The bugger question is why? Of those 20 coaches, more than half aren't realistic candidates or candidates that would take the IU job and he's got a better resume than pretty much everybody else on the list.
