A nonsensical gif that I’ll gloss over before returning to back to my life?
-
I understand his feeling from 4 years ago lol. You don’t need to keep saying the same thing, read you loud and clear the first time. 4 years ago, UCLA wasn’t 2000 miles away from home every other week for a week at a time nor was UCLA every thought to be second fiddle in any hypothetical realm where it came to paying players.
-
Not even close. Crean’s average B10 finish even if you exclude his first 3 years was something like 8th or 9th. Cronin hasn’t finished worse than 5th in any conference he’s coached in since 2012.
-
What’s the problem? Raining on your Brad Stevens parade? Sorry?
-
I think Cronin would take the IU job if offered for the two above mentioned reasons…that weren’t issues 4 years ago.
-
I’m not here for likes, then again I don’t pretend to be some self-important person on an anonymous message board…I’m perfectly comfortable in my own skin.
-
Yeah NIL (which UCLA lacks) and UCLA moving to the B10.
-
Ok? He makes the tournament and competes for conference titles nearly every year. If that's what the next 8-10 years look like, sign me up.
-
You've literally lost your mind. I've pumped close to 200 posts, maybe more, in support of Cronin and I was suspended from posting for two weeks in February. My stance on who I want as a coach has been clear since the end of January. And I've made it known. Multiple times.
-
If you're exhausted with people asking who you would like as the coach or who you think will succeed/fail what do you truly want? The question led down the path to what you wanted to do...discuss your coaching ideas and options. If we're not going to hire Will Wade, Mick Cronin is without a doubt my #1. You aren't going to get another candidate with the qualifications of Cronin to come take this job. I've been pushing Cronin...on this thread...for nearly a month. If Otzelberger or Drew have a change of heart and want a change of scenery, I'd be thrilled. Will root for either to happen but not holding my breath. But if you end up hiring Brownell, McCollum, etc....we'll be doing this in 4 years again.
-
Brah you're not even batting well enough to be AA when it comes to these things. Sit this one out.
-
Brother...I've discussed ad nauseum who I think are realistic options and who I think we succeed/fail here.
-
No. It played out exactly like I said it would play out.

I'd expect actual dialogue about coaching candidates in the candidate thread. Stevens belongs in the same thread as the Tooth Fairy and Santa Clause. And should be labeled OT.
-
Stevens is completely out and I don't need to pay $100 a year or whatever to tell you that.
-
-
I'm not here for "inside" info. I'm here to discuss IU basketball, in this case, the next coach. Brad Stevens is not going to coach Indiana basketball regardless of what anybody hears. Glad we cleared that up.
-
If you came here for inside info, well I feel sorry for you. At least you aren't paying for it on Peegs.

I didn't say anything about university spending. I said that Creighton was on par in terms of NIL with the rest of their Big East counterparts. I don't care that Marquette's largest expenditure is renting out the Fiserv Forum. That's irrelevant to any comment I've made in regards to Creighton and their NIL.
-
That's fine. They still don't have anywhere near the NIL pool or donor base that Creighton does which is the brunt of the argument.
-
Marquette spends most of their basketball money renting out the Fiserv Forum. They don't have anywhere near the amount of wealthy alums or donor base that Creighton does. UConn is in a league of their own as they should be, it's a state public school with a 4-5x larger alumni base than the rest of these small, private Big East schools and St. John's has recently gotten a commitment from Mike Repole, likely because St. John's is now good again.
-
Then you’d know there’s a ton of Berkshire money running through that school. If Buffett himself ever decide to get involved personally, it’d be game over.
-
From somebody who regularly used to travel to Omaha for work, I'm telling you it's true. UConn and St John's are the only other two BE schools who compete.
