Just hire Will Wade before NC State does so we aren’t doing this again 4-5 years from now. If not it’s going to be Brownell or McCollum which is par for the course.

IU has already had to fire one coach for abusive behavior who...checks notes...was a mentor to Chris Beard. They've fired a football coach in the last decade for abuse and mistreatment towards injured players. It's currently in the middle of a lawsuit where former athletes are accusing a team doctor of inappropriate conduct.

When he bit, strangled, bruised, and battered her. I don't care if it was "self-defense" or not. If you're immediate reaction is to lay hands on a person for breaking something a simple as your reading glasses, let alone your freaking fiance, you forfeit the right to coach basketball at Indiana. You make $5mil a year, go buy a new pair in the morning. Anybody defending Beard's actions is a LOSER!
-
Would you attack your wife if she broke your glasses? You kidding me Clark? Please don't reproduce.

This is the candidate thread...of which Brad Stevens is not.
-
Will let you know after I read it.

How? The stipulations in the contract he signed have drastically changed. He could argue that he would have resigned on the spot had he known UCLA was moving to the B10 and he'd be away from home for a week at a time every other week.
-
Better chance of Cronin getting a reduced buyout from UCLA than Brad Stevens coaching at IU. But tell me something I don't know?
-
He absolutely has leverage. The contract stipulations he signed 3 years ago have either a) drastically changed or b) no longer exist.
-
Because they would owe him $16mil if they fired him and whatever school hired him wouldn't have to pay a dime. Cronin is pretty much unfirable as he is unhirable right now.
-
Probably not but that's IU's problem not mine.
-
Lol that is exactly what Cronin would want UCLA to say. I think Cronin absolutely has grounds to renegotiate his buyout given what has transpired at UCLA since signing his extension. He's owed $16 million if fired before 4/1 but owes $16 million if he leaves before 4/1.
-
Whole package. Has won conference titles at 3 different schools in the last 10 years.

Cronin's lawyer: "We'll let the courts decide"
-
It's a huge bargaining chip. Cronin can absolutely say "I didn't sign up for this" when I signed my contract 3 years ago.
-
Possibly but don't think UCLA would want to leave it up to the court to decide either.
-
Wade recruited and coached Watford's brother at LSU
-
Based on what? That UCLA wouldn't agree to a reduced buyout in the event he'd take them to court to challenge the language in his contract that was presented to him when he signed it?
-
There's written language in his contract that states bonuses for accomplishments and results in the PAC 12, a now defunct conference lol. So what, he's now no longer entitles to any bonuses because he's not coaching in the PAC 12? Cronin has absolutely every grounds to renegotiate his contract. And if UCLA doesn't want too....he has more than a leg to stand on and challenge it in court.
-
Should be evident that the next hire is a sitting college head coach.
-
Isaac trolling wrong info from the "insiders" with his own wrong info was always the end game here. He was simply proving a point.
-
And it's always just Brad. That way, when Brad Brownell is announced that coveted inside info was solid all along.
-
No I don't know of any one who has challenged their contract. And of course that doesn't mean it hasn't happened or couldn't happen.
-
How many coaches want out of a blueblood job with a massive buyout? Guarantee you this can be challenged in court. On the bonus level, Cronin can make $25,000 for every regular season Pac-12 title, $15,000 for every Pac-12 tournament title and $10,000 for winning Pac-12 coach of the year. The academic performance of Cronin's student-athletes could also end up giving him an additional bonus as high as $60,000.

Used to take me 5 hours in the 90's when my buddies and I would go visit, but we always allowed for 2 hours at the Hugger each way.
