Might be a question mark but to early to I ow that for sure.

So what would be the difference from having two good seasons then a down year compared to 2 bad seasons hoping for a better third season. If you think we are having trouble recruiting now what do you think it would be like off two losing seasons
-
You know if we sucked the first two years this fan base would have been calling for his head. He did the right thing because he at least got us competing again and got to the tournament. Some fans still isn't behind him even though we had two good seasons so what do you think it would be like with two bad seasons

Freshman expectations for Cupps and Newton
Scotty R replied to RaceToTheTop's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The Indianapolis Star had a really good article about Newton today. I read the actual newspaper and I can't link the Indy Star website since it is a pay site. -
The front court still should be good and not far off from last year. Of course nobody will replace TJD production and why we need to upgrade positions 2-4. We also can win next year but it might need to be in another way TJD better than Ware Reneau better than Race JHS pretty even with XJ If Banks improves he should bring more than Kopp did. I think Sparks coming off the bench will be better than Duncomb so that is a win

Didn't realize the roster is set for next year

My god Woodson has been here two years. What did you expect the team to look like this year.

Got this quote from an article about Cleveland entering the portal. “Guys like Cleveland are often lured into the portal by promises or interest given from coaches at other schools, with potential of how much NIL money may be involved. How it works isn’t technically illegal, but a coach can always be recruiting other players and talk to a Grassroots coach or even a close relative and basically say “if Player A would get into the transfer portal we would take him and if he came here our collective might be able to pay around X.”
-
Yes, it was
-
1986 our center was 6'7
-
A lot of teams play 3 guard lineups. Baylor started 3 guards the year they won the championship and none was bigger than 6'5. I really I would like the 3 being 6'6+
-
Because Arkansas has brought in 4 wing/guards from the portal since he put his name in the draft
-
I assume a lot of these transfer had no prior connection to the school they transferred to. I know Arkansas has brought in 4 players who are guards so it will effect Davis on playing time. He is testing the NBA but I doubt he will stay in the draft. Also has any of our assistants recruited him before

Sorry to hear about your wife My problem I have to much time on my hands because my kids are out of the house and I am divorced. With that I spend to much time on message boards and let to many things bother me.
-
I forgot about the last two by UNC
-
They have lost as many recruits in the portal as they have won.
-
Why is your user name on here different than the one on HSN. For such a college basketball insider you spend a lot of time arguing on message boards trying to make yourself look important
-
Mainly talking about in the tournament.
-
We know why UK use to get the one and done players and now the advantage is over they haven't been very good.

I remember last year OSU fans excited about a transfer from Wright State last year. He scored over 30 in a play in game last year and averaged like 18 a game. This year at OSU he barely played. A few years ago they got the player of the year from Harvard but injuries didn't allow him to play much.
-
The blame goes all around and that includes coaches, players, administration and yes the fans. Like I said next year could be a bad season but none of us know how things will develop. Why always look at the negative 7 of months before the season starts.
-
Maybe what I posted a couple of days ago might have a little merit on why it is hard for us to get recruits. It isn't about the fans being to negative but how we respond to players and recruits could turn some players off. We get so zealous and wanting these players to come here we might step over the line a little bit. Some players just want to go to a place that they go play the game and not be the savior of the program. Some like the attention but some players don't want to be bothered by fans on social media. Like I said our fans can be the greatest asset especially in game night. We are so passionate it sometimes goes to far
-
I have not said that in the end it will turn out great and might be a bad season next year. It just rubs me the wrong way seeing some posters just freaking out in Aoril
-
I guess if they didn't like what they heard in the interview and what Knecht expected about touches or playing time. Like I said non of us know what really goes on in the process You might be right or I might be but we don't know. I just finds it funny that some just automatically turn on the coach when things don't go the way you want them to.

I think coaches can't win when it comes to recruiting philosophy. Davis was always ripped for not offering a lot of players but settled on a select amount to recruit. Crean comes in and offers everyone and gets ripped because the fans thought players don't feel wanted when you offer that many players. Now Woodson is getting ripped for not offering enough players
