Chris Ledlum - Harvard Transfer to Tennessee -- Wait, Make That St. John's
Scotty R replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Not talking about posters on here but the bloggers and guys trying to say they have inside info. I see it on pro sports where it comes as trade rumors but it is just click bait. It is just their idea of what would be a good trade but not actually a real rumor. -

I like the information to be factual. Going off tweets from guys who are no more of an insider than you and me are is what is a waste. I am not on Twitter but see it on here and people are taking it is a fact. -

I do enjoy talking about recruiting but some of it seems to be getting out of control. -
I think it goes back to watching RMK doing this over the years. He even did this in the national semi final against UNLV in 1987. Darryl Thomas had 3 fouls in the first 5 minutes of the game and Steve Eyl came in and played well. To start the half Eyl started instead of Thomas

Chris Ledlum - Harvard Transfer to Tennessee -- Wait, Make That St. John's

I sometimes miss the day when you found out about your recruiting class in the newspaper the day after signing day. Today there is way to many social media and bloggers out there wanting to be the first to report news. It doesn't even have to be factual anymore gor a post to go out. The media use to have 3 confirmed sources before the could put out the news. Now a blogger can put something out there as fact but it is just his opinion. It is a sad day when people are trying to see who a recruit is following on social media to figure out where he is going to commit. It is just like trying to chart planes in coaching searches -

I don't know about the college game but the MLB games are a lot quicker -
If we get both of them then the starters will be XJ / Cupp Knecht / Galloway Ledlum / Newton Reneau /Banks Ware /Sparks If we want to improve on last year we have to upgrade the positions of 2-4 and get players who are better than Galloway, Kopp and Race.
-
He does disappear to often in the game and isn't aggressive enough offensively.
-
Offensively, yes
-
He would be the first guard wing off the bench but I would say you would have a big be the first sub off the bench.
-
He would have to improve a lot for me to want him in the starting lineup. He is to limited on the offensive end where it is just a catch and shoot from 3 or a floater. He isn't capable as of right now to create a shot for himself. You can't have him have the ball at the end of the clock and expect him to hit a tough pull up jumper. To me with how hard he plays it is better to have him play less minutes so he can play all out every second he is on the court. Every good team needs a guy who comes off the bench to energizes the team.
-
I don't know why people are do enamored with Galloway being in the starting lineup. To me if we see him starting next year that is not a great sign for us to be a great team. On a great team he should be coming off the bench as your 7-8 guy. We just have to upgrade positions 2-4 because last year that was this teams down fall. If we don't upgrade those position from last year then we won't be as good as last year.

I am getting ready to head to church for Easter Service. After reading some of these post I think it is time for us to take a little break from recruiting news. Trying to put things together by what pictures were sent and why they were sent is getting bout of hand. Today in central Indiana the weather is going to be great so we should get outside and spend time with family. I know I will spend time with my kids and grandkids plus my brother and all of his family. We are going to my mom and dads house and not going to worry about decisions of a basketball recruit. -
Probably just talking about the portal in general

As the World Turns of Indiana Basketball the new soap opera -
I would think most of us on here don't have that kind of money. People with that kind of money don't spend all of their time on message boards talking about basketball recruits.
-
Coaches aren't supposed to actually give out offers
-
Why don't you take care of the money and we will pay back later
