Kids today couldn't care less what IU did on the 70's and 80's so history isn't a huge sell. Kids care about about glitz and glamour when it comes to facilities and IU facilities isn't anything special. Also I do believe that the big ten conference hurts recruiting the elite talent

Just because things aren't being leaked to the public doesn't mean they aren't recruiting anyone. To me it is better if it is quiet because when rumors swirls usually nothing happens.

Everyone knows why UK and Duke has gotten most of the top recruits. Also most of them are one and done so they only have to put up with those fans for 8 months

There isn't just 1 thing that has contributed to us not winning like we want to. First thing I blame was President Herbert making the AD hire Sampson over Beilein I blame RMK not being able to control himself I blame the AF for hiring Miller who I was against hiring in the first place. I blame fans for turning on coaches to early which I believe effects recruiting. I think over zealous fans contacting recruits on social media isn't helpful

Well in the last 25 years we have had 6 coaches, 4AD's and 4 presidents. These people are who gets all the blame yet we have changed them on average every 5-6 years and still nothing changed. The fans are the only one constant and some of the fan bases actions have been detrimental to the program. Every thinks Hoosier Hysterics guys are great but their actions has not always helped.

I thought they pretty much met expectations I thought they would compete for the big ten , finished 2nd. Thought they would get to the sweet 16, got to the second round

Let me first say that overall I think our fan base is a big asset to the program. Saying that I also think we can be a huge detriment to it as well. We keep trying to come up with all of these excuses to why we haven't been successful the last 25 years. I think one reason is the fans and how we try to get in the way when it comes to recruiting. Someone brought up Hoosier Hysterics but I think their actions get in the way of recruiting because some players might not like getting hit up on social media by creepy older guys. Just this year we had an idiot fan write TJD a letter criticizing him. You see one of the all time players in zIU history getting ripped it might make you second guess about coming to IU
