Who'd they play in the title game? Did they play a top 15 team?

Didn't Ohio State win it all with a 3rd string quarterback, a few years back?

Does a 12-1 SEC team, automatically mean they're better than a 13-0 ACC team, who beat 2 SEC teams? 1 away, and 1 on a neutral field That fact you don't think an argument can be made, that FSU is one the four best teams in the country, is absurd. There are plenty arguments that say differently. Plus, they're the only team in the top 8, to lose at home.

FSU manhandled a good LSU team on a neutral field. Alabama needed a hail Mary to beat a below average Auburn team, in the last game of the season. The SEC, regardless what ESPN says, wasn't a very good conference this year. You penalize an undefeated P5 team, because 1 starter, out of 22(although most important position) is not available. The talent level on FSU is equal to any team in the playoffs. Their defense is damn good.
  5. With the Cupps and CJ(and backcourt in general)debate, I believe Woody is just wanting someone to not give away possessions on offense, and play hard nosed smart defense. With our ability to provide 50-60ppg from our frontcourt, we just need our backcourt to keep defenses honest. If we can get a statline like Trey had last night, consistently from any of our guards, this team could be dangerous. PS- Kaleb Banks needs to play somewhere, he's this close to putting it together!
  6. That's exactly why CJ and Kaleb are so important to this group. They need to get comfortable/confident with being able to create for themselves and others. The ability is definitely there. I honestly do believe they are starting to get it on the defensive end. That will get them the minutes they need to figure it out on O.

I believe this was the point of the original post. The game has changed so much, that guys like Kofi, Oscar, and Edey, are not even in the conversation. It wasn't that long ago, these guys would be considered lottery picks. Kofi is the one guy I scratch my head on. A decade ago(not literally)this guy would be around the top of the draft boards. Raw, but oozing with potential. In years past, Bam would not even be a top 10 center in the league.
  8. He definitely seems to be making the game more difficult on himself. Love the 3 steals and his buy in on the defensive end, but quit pressing on the offensive end. He can get his shots within the natural flow of the offense. Especially if Malik learns to kick the ball out.lol These guys are starting to figure out how to play with each other. We saw glimpses last night, of how relentless and dominant this frontcourt could potentially be. Really starting to like this team, although it will be frustrating at times.
  9. As much as I love Malik, he needs to have better recognition in the post. The skip pass to the the weak side, usually has at least one guy open. Or kick it back out, and reestablish position. He's second on the team in assists, however he has almost twice as many to's as anyone else. He could improve his 1:1 a/to ratio, by not putting the ball on the floor in so much in traffic. Plus, he is key in us having more open 3 pt opportunities. Love his attitude and skillset(and footwork), but improved court awareness will do wanders for his post game. Same could be said about CJ on the perimeter.

Wholeheartedly agree! Wasn't that long ago, Coach's and GM's were salivating over a kid like Kofi Cockburn. Someone needs to draft Edey, and flip the bird to the opponent, and say I'll take my 65-70% 2's, over your 25-35% 3's. Work more on his mobility and strength to somewhat guard the perimeter (he was a hockey player), because not many guys are going to handle him on the block. Someone needs to take the plunge!

It's a shame that the game has changed so much, that guys like Oscar, Edey, and Kofi aren't considered prospects for the NBA anymore.
  12. So, it's ok to hire a football coach who's 62, but our basketball coach is too old? Make it make sense!

  14. You do realize in the business world, CEO's and managers, leave positions all the time. The new leaders aren't just hiring new personnel. It's their job to keep things running smoothly, or make the proper adjustments. Sometimes it's not all about who you hire or fire, So far, your only arguments are, an unfortunate contract extension, and age discrimination towards our bball hire?
  15. LOL So, you're saying he's done a good job with everything, but the football program? You do realize IU football has been bad for over a century, correct?
  16. Apparently, it's the thing to do. MSU did it the other night, during their bball game.
  17. You do realize most of the other programs (men and women), under his watch, are pretty damn successful.
  18. Isn't the game on Friday?
