T.Moren did refer to Y.G. matchups however stated she is taller than most guards who guard her. T.M. also wants more on inside overall beyond matchups because of her size. They tried it last year (Y.G. was 17 year old freshman) and it didn’t work all that well. It remains to be seen how it works out this year and if it affects Y.G. outside game or how much of a good player Y.G. can be in mid range to inside game. This is one (maybe a little bit trial and error) component of ways to address loss of Grace Berger. Y.G. will still be perimeter player.

If IU can win one more game they will catch Colorado in win-loss record. Then IU plays Purdue and Colorado plays Utah. Utah will beat Colorado. Colorado will finish 4 wins and 8 losses If IU beats MSU and becomes 4 and 8. Can IU have 5 wins and 7 loss record?

In the last 7 games including end of season last year IU Ladies are 3 wins and 4 losses trending in wrong direction and the losses were all bad in a variety of ways. Not a good sign.

After Colorado win over TCU my prediction was IU and Colorado would end up with identical records in the 4, 5, 6 wins range. IU needs another win: quit playing for a tie or not to lose in tight games…go for the win instead of all or almost running plays. IU. 27 Michigan State. 20 (Colorado has been more competitive and has won one more game)

Not an excuse…but a 5 or 6 hour flight getting ready and acclimated upon arrival… IU looked slow and tired…couldn’t throw the ball in the ocean while a really high level team awaits in the comforts of their home where they prepare and play all the time ….Stanford is really high level. Ohio State gets beat by 8 or 9 at USC.

That’s a realistic and accurate assessment.

Virginia Tech led by Kenny Brooks Ladies Basketball seem to take the character and personality of their coach and is one of the classiest basketball programs in all of Ladies college basketball.

Bargesser will be on the floor (even calling bank shots) like Tiny Nate Arcibald cruising around the floor. Great to see her play with a recovered leg injury. Jelks had wisdom teeth pulled this week and missed some practice pre-game per T.M. Post game when T.Moren was asked what it meant to her to get her 400th college basketball win? T. Moren stated “it means we are going to shoot 400 free throws.”
