The call was made (after previous warning)…but was made on dead ball (no advantage gained). Ref may have been out of position because ref could have or even should have been where Caitlin No looked passed ball….another high level player skill.
-
Refs not up to task in this game. Ref explanation of T called on Clark is wrong by the rule book. READ FULL RULE. D. Staley and K. Mulky are classless coaches. Especially, can’t stand Mulky. Still waiting on explanation of T called on Mulky…oh there was not a T on Mulky…not even a warning. side note: at start of season Mulky did explain reason for weak non conference schedule was to develop team and not throw them into fire. It worked because she knew LSU had much talent and it worked for March Madness championship.
-
Iowa is known at times for loose defense. LSU is playing with Mulky personality having a happy party. Friday night Iowa game ended around midnight Friday night. Then, playing again 39 hours later. LSU game ended at a more reasonable time and more fresh. Quickness and beating Iowa at Iowa’s game. LSU player showing up Clark and Iowa this time as she and LSU with that kind of shooting….confidence, swagger (Mulky personality all year long)

Caitlin Clark and Company charge ahead to March Madness Tournament National Championship representative of big ten the best Ladies basketball conference this year. as this IU Ladies fan cheers for you as IU Ladies are Big Ten Conference Regular Season Champs. At the peak of his coaching career Bob Knight once said it is a bigger reward to win the regular season conference championship than a tournament. Today’s March Madness takes a 6 games win streak.
-
And you just answered question for one reason regarding another capable big girl needed for IU Ladies. plus 6 players rotation VT no national championship. However, at 6 players rotation 0 drop off in play is needed equals a plug in Berger level player (though different but brings high level of play) needed from transfer portal.
-
There’s a lot of other stupid junk aired on tv stations that maybe (to a specific audience) that has little interest from the regional market aired to that is simply forced down peoples throats.
-
Kind of a guideline: Games needed to be played an hour earlier on Friday and play at either 7:00 or 8:00pm on Sunday. Disadvantage Iowa (ridiculous and advantage for LSU) because Iowa game finished at midnight. Then, play at 3:00pm Sunday. Major tv networks need to pick up major women college (not pro) basketball games throughout season. Like a regional game of the week type scenario for each major conference for the best teams.

Players development and improvement became really evident early with T. Moren and staff with T. Buss and A. Cahill.
-
T. Moren talked all season how good the big ten is compared to the other conferences and she is right.

Looking for IU Ladies to add another like 5 star level type along with a capable big girl. Development really helps but high level talent is really great to help that process and to be another weapon with current performing at 5 star level players. I know IU Ladies are a lot better at it but IU Men’s basketball and football have been developing players for years.
-
Good point/s. I still think IU gets something out of transfer portal.
-
I agree 100% on that.
-
In another week or so it should come together with staying pat or any additions. IU Ladies now have 4 open scholarships and 11 on 2023-2024 roster.
-
Do you think IU Ladies can stand pat with current roster and add no significant player for 2023-24 and have a really good chance to win regular season conference and/or big ten tournament and get to final 4???
-
It doesn’t have to be Ware. It definitely can be someone else. Another big girl is needed.
-
Disagree. It’s not about taking minutes from anyone.
-
Regarding Ware…has been injury prone some on college level. It would be some risk for IU. Not sure what the update expectations are on Ware. A healthy Holmes Meister gets 5 to 10 minutes and Ware 5 to 8 minutes. However, if Holmes gets in an unfortunate situation then each player minutes could significantly increase. (insurance) Again, I use Ware as example but it could be another good big. IU Ladies need one more capable big girl and a Berger replacement plug in type player. Gone are Geary and of course the player Brown was a couple years ago.
-
Ware did not play last year. Surgery
-
If you don’t have Mackenzie Holmes playing at POY or All American level or close to it or first team big ten level…then IU Ladies lost 2 of their last 3 games (not counting Iowa) and at home with 15000 fans created inferior competition of Miami….Yes, 2nd year players will probably be quite a bit better….but 1 high level plug in needed for Berger but higher level than IU bench. And one big girl to help Holmes with Meister…my example of Ware (leg in a brace) may want to preserve her knee so it will be somewhat healthy when she gets older…and not sure if it’s worth the risk. But a win-win would be to play from time to time. Not sure if she even thinks that way. I use Ware as example but it could be someone else.

Unknowns…not conceding 18 for L.M., 15 for Bargesser, and Henna at 12 plus team (injury related) and game circumstances (fouls etc). Funny…T. Moren and the whole IU Ladies program have exceeded my expectations since T. Moren was hired. Now, (fair, unfair)….Now, the expectations have changed as in higher and are greedy meaning in a positive way….And how time flies. IU Ladies basketball program are in the process to seize the moment.
-
I 100% disagree. IU Ladies need more help in the top 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 to blend in minutes and absolutely don’t need 10th or 11th girls on bench from transfer portal. This is not PU, Penn State, Wisconsin etc etc. Again looking for 0 level of drop off in play. And L.M. did a really good job 2022-23…and will continue as long as she can play behind Holmes. Lexi Bargesser is a drop off in play though she does a good job at times. Yes, they will be improved. Again I repeat…talking a struggle to place in top 3 or 4 in conference and getting past sweet 16 vs CHAMPIONSHIPS.
-
Dead weight on the bench…Probably not good enough…Illinois, Purdue, Butler, Penn State, Wisconsin, Rutgers, or similar teams in middle of big ten or outside big ten. At IU Ladies 5 or 6 years ago yes, but not 2023-2024 unless interested in backsliding vs championships.

How many awards that represent the same category are out there?

Meg Newman to Bama..no surprise that it’s not IU.
