High School: Recruiting 5 star recruits…there’s just not that many of them. 2025 observation per ESPN recruiting classes (examples) 5 stars: (Examples) Oregon = 3, Ohio State = 2, Michigan = 2, Bama = 2. Over a 4 year period = 8 to 12 on any elite program. Then, , add to that each of the recent elite programs have a bunch of high to lower level 4 star recruits added to their roster every year. Then, elite programs add less than 10 mid to high level 3 stars each year. IU 5 stars: = 0, 4 stars = 2 lower level 80 and 81, 3 stars = most of each recruiting class mid to higher level 3 stars. (IU and the transfer portal success..…most teams try to use it as needed). (North Carolina State 4 stars = 5 and a range of 3 stars and a 2 star and several 0 stars recruits).

I am sure they share.

Coach has many trophies. They are solid gold bars stored in a downtown bank vault. He likes to keep things private including his game plan. He has done quite well for himself.

Two post game press conferences now: T. Moren has really been highly complimentary on H. Sandvik and stated she is really a nice player and great teammate. Overall game is really good and has the ability to score more.

Penn State turnovers= 12…I thought they would be at 20 or more before the game. IU = 11 turnovers

T.Moren signature stamp on this game. Much of it is like watching a tooth ache. Tough overall on defense and execution of high percentage offense once IU settled in (so far)

K.S. thus far is giving a nice lesson (so far…and new to the program something by now Lilly should be able to do comfortably and with high consistency).

Indiana centers/post players so difficult for them to make layups and inside shots it’s sickening and (skills overall). Looking at Penn State crowd and (some other crowds of some other programs) How is Indiana not more of a destination for more of the national top recruits??? Given IU Ladies crowds and facilities. Give IU Ladies more NIL money.

IU Ladies so soft and uncoordinated in traffic = 4 missed layups after breaking press. what good is it to break the press if you can’t even score on layups.

Coaching thoughts ( Coach Woodson): Miami is a great team in a great MAC conference. We have to play in front of such a hostile crowd. If we can beat these guys I think I deserve another raise.

Wonder when IU players actually worked out as in tense training?

Is any money left from the six million to give the refs a little extra in a stipend. IU needs a little help at home.

IU flexes muscles at home in the MAC. But now IU gets tired. What to do now?

Don’t know who wins but I predict that Pen State will commit 20 turnovers. 1st loss of season at home vs St. Johns after 17 straight home court wins. L.M. and K.S. Vs Merkle 6’6” in the post. Penn State has other productive players as well. RUN

I like the IU football coach’s belief that you never stay the same…. You are either getting better or worse. So is coach Woodson up for another raise?

As IU coach talks about Blueprint….9 assistants and strength coach already signed multi year contracts to remain at IU. That’s strong stability and commitment from all led by the coach. Keeping the main OC and replacing just this position is really stable. How many more assistants that may have new opportunities might be in question but there is a solid J.M. pipeline along with I am sure other network connections.

IU Ladies getting out played physically. Screaming Eagles executing what they want and knocking IU Ladies off balance. Screaming Eagles moved up to division one last year and would have went to March Madness but are not eligible until year three. 17-1 conference record 2023-24. Screaming Eagles did go to NIT and lost in second game to Wisconsin.
