Actually, ever since T. Moren was hired and shortly thereafter I felt IU Ladies basketball was superior to men’s IU basketball program in their respective fields (caught on during the Buss and Cahill years)…..Not just winning and losing but the difference in the high character of representing IU and the community from both, coaches and players (after smoothing some things out to establish a very positive culture)….A tribute for to T. Moren leadership and achievement. Several years (probably 5 or 6) ago I posted who was going to win a national championship first IU Ladies or IU men? Currently, neither has happened. However, IU Ladies thus far has a big ten regular season championship and won several March Madness games and an NIT to get things going from the fans. One of the few but given the circumstances…I thought T. Moren was an excellent hire for IU Ladies when she was hired.

Unless it’s been Brad Stevens all along all possibilities are on the table including an April Fool’s joke.

Regarding Brad Stevens it must be unbelievable feeling to be wanted in high level jobs/careers that are so prestigious, fun, and something you love and all of them are many multi millions of dollars endeavors. (Jobs/careers). Brad Stevens for president.

Patience, a process, time, research, resources, behind the scenes, top notch decision making, secretiveness, future vision, evaluating, and game changing decisions = Mike Davis, Tom Crean, Archie Miller, Mike Woodson AND……..

What a story that would be if IU men were March Madness 2025 Champs and even a bigger story if both, IU men and Ladies were 2025 March Madness Champs.

And coach Woodson says we have played some good basketball winning 5 of 7 and can beat anyone when we are playing well…while talking about whether IU men’s basketball should be in March Madness.

Brad Stevens seems to be quite the businessman/Mgr. I am sure he can NIL buy some 5 stars…..that have ‘absent minded professor’ chemistry .

Should this game count? IU men’s basketball ousted in the first game of big ten tournament 15 of 27 years. Bob Knight had his reason in saying he didn’t like the big ten tournament following regular season championship and standings.

I commented on that early in the year because IU players have played like an out of basketball shape team throughout the year. Physically and mentally.

Costing these elites their jobs is laughable. Sure, no matter how much money one makes or is attached they don’t want to lose their jobs without it being their choice. However, none of them are going to end up on the streets or destitute if they took care of their finances during his or her tenure. Yes, pride and feelings hurt but at their choice of retiring or other opportunities await them. Examples are many including Tom Allen is doing well.

I agree, but it's all about putting the team in the best position to compete in March. Talent matters, work ethic matters, drive and focus matter. A lot of things have to fall into place for any kind of run in March, but having high-level talent makes it easier to get there. To compete at the highest level continuously the right couple really high 4 stars or 5 stars is always needed…the right ones for program.

Stevens May Alford Schertz: had successive wins in NITin middle of the pack major conference teams vs SMU, Minnesota, and Utah…then blew lead by in championship game vs Seton Hall. (Compare it to McCollum level of competition) Turned around an Indiana State program (more than just team) in 3 years…not easy! Now, in process of turning around St. Louis. after turning around the Railsplitters. Hire one of these guys and go.

And that’s coaching. His life experience of being I think a number one ranked state tennis player at a very early age against his dad’s wishes to navigate a basketball career leading to his level of success requires talent and intelligence. He has a hunger for competitiveness that I think would carry over into an opportunity. His personality skills would be compatible to IU fan base.

In addition he is a people person. He is smart and interesting when he talks.

And after Indiana State Josh Schertz in year one under the radar…St Louis 2024-2025 18 wins 13 losses (while dealing with a couple player injuries) after St Louis basketball 2023-2024 season 13 wins 20 losses.
