Transfer portal, NIL (and outrageous negotiated coaching salaries on the men’s side that started all this several years ago)for several years now ….feels like it’s a month of like living in a Rubber room. March Madness Tournaments along with NITs were enough to deal with.

It’s hard to be a freshman and sophomore impact player when they are not effective scorers at this level and have trouble scoring in traffic. Got to be able to put the ball in the basket besides all the other stuff. And I know the point was made about the expectations regarding Beaumont (which she is a promising player) but she is still unproven. It was said that Lilly had a great summer….but it looked like it was more based on hope than reality.

IU Ladies Basketball and parallel to Seton Hall/PJ Carlesimo considering number of overseas players …possibilities….Gal Raviv Quinnipiac if IU Ladies even want to go after a small guard? Not sure depending on how things shake out if another small guard is wanted. This one might be worthwhile…..along with Clara Silva/KY (no contact meaning she already has idea or agent is handling things).

Clara Silva/KY….do not contact (a tall one) @ 6’6” or 6’7” I suppose whether or not she is standing up straight. Excellent statistics in Portugal. Highly sought after.

Observation: Many of the things that T. Moren, coaching staff, and players talk about and demonstrate that make IU Ladies Basketball Program high character and class…..I also see in many other top Ladies programs around the country demonstrated in their own way.

Oklahoma Ladies on their home court must have remembered playing at IU last year and took it out on Iowa Ladies 2025 March Madness. Two LA teams took over Big Ten Ladies basketball this year. The rest of the big ten really hasn’t shown much 2024-2025.

IU Ladies may have NIL issues for specific players now on the team. (projected starters) IU Ladies also have the issue of NIL to recruit specific high level impact players from the transfer portal to help specifically two returning projected starters…..or those projected starters could shop teams where there is more help (better players to show case talents). However, the downside is that a player could get in a negative situation (example: Van Lith from Louisville to LSU though she corrected situation with transfer to TCU). Both, Shay and Yardon don’t have an extra year to self correct. T. Moren is trying to thread a needle in this process. IU better get with the Ladies program and quit teeter tottering….Players (current and those being recruited) can see what is going on. Both, Yardon and Shay (like all coaches and players) they want to play on high level winning teams equal to their own talent level.

In today’s sports world teams can have the traditional culture of dedication and loyalty………. and nowadays there are more than a few (several) programs that have a 21st modern day culture besides dedication and loyalty includes NIL (money). NIL (money) talks and traditional culture of dedication and loyalty walks. In major college sports programs……The irony of it all and not as much on the women’s side but definitely on the men’s side the coaches that often complain about NIL…..were the ones that started it all by negotiating outrageous contracts to coach which now includes several years.

As good as G. Berger and Holmes were…IU Ladies had some other outstanding players the last few years….Gulbe, Patberg, and Cardano-Hillary immediately come to mind.

T. Moren is very well aware of what players are needed to pursue in the 2025 transfer portal and to recruit in high school. I suspect 3 transfer portal recruits for 2025-2026. It will be interesting to see if one or more if any enter the transfer portal from the IU Ladies.

2024-2025 Another fine high character Indiana Ladies Basketball season in the T. Moren era, coaching staff, support staff and players led by Chloe Moore-McNeil, Sidney Parrish, Carolyn Striplin….and all those involved with the program. INDIANA UNIVERSITY LADIES BASKETBALL PROGRAM PROUD.

T. Moren was asked about neutral court vs home court in March Madness She stated IU hosted the two previous years. However, thought it was time to have that discussion as game on the women’s side has progressed. My thoughts: Another way to look at it is that it is a reward earned throughout the season. So if you want to host. Win. However, neutral sites would be more fair tournament for tournament purposes.

Chloe Kitts and the third quarter was a killer. IU either won or played even 3 of the 4 quarters.

Elite teams get a call or two or a no call or two make them so hard to beat. S.C. was already on a big run but could be 3 or 4 points closer.

Offensive fouls on Sid Parrish are officially hated. S.C.does not need help. Take away bucket and ft. Instead a foul on Parrish. Plus it takes away some of Parrish game confidence. she gets the bucket plus one could have elevated her game confidence.

Maybe, she can bring back her game like she did vs. S.C. in second half of last year’s tournament.

K.Brooks/Kentucky coach said it well. We were there with 8 minutes to go but S.C. Just subs a 5 star for a 5 star.

Props to Michigan decision makers after 2023-24 season. Well put together and well coached teams are fun and to watch. IU connection

Well IU Ladies have won a couple of them vs South Carolina.

IU Ladies can’t allow several first half plays as they did against UTAH until towards the end….it looked like one of those games that the team that played the least worst was going to win. However, IU Ladies turned it around in the third quarter and played through the fourth quarter for one of their best wins of the year. Third and much of the fourth quarter performance needed vs South Carolina.

Cristen Carter: 2023 Ben Davis High School, Indiana All Star, originally committed to Miami Ohio but coaching scandal led to Butler. At Ben Davis: a couple sectional titles and a regional title while averaging 18 points per game 51% shooting her senior season , school record 355 career rebounds. She is academically inclined….health science and neuroscience and medical school after graduation.
