I won’t openly root for us to lose. But, honestly, I don’t believe that I’ll have to root to see the disappointment we know is coming. There is no way with the talent that is on this roster that we shouldn’t have a good year. But we’ve seen this movie before and it doesn’t have the ending any of us want. Just seeing the play from Atlantis told you everything you need to know about how good of a collegiate coach Mike Woodson is. Even in the win over Providence, you could see it wasn’t a matter of us shutting them down on defense, it was a matter of them missing good wide open shots - especially from three point range. Good teams will exploit the crap out of that, especially in the Big 10.

Even Quinn can’t save him now. The dysfunction is too obvious and too severe to save face.

That’s fair. As I said in my post, I loved Woody as a player. He achieved a lot during his time on the hardwood. But you can’t look past the lack of effort and direction. Had he played anywhere else he would never be the coach at IU. At this point, it just needs to end. He’s Dead Man Walking.

This is not meant to call you out, so please don’t take offense. But from your posts you seem to be a supporter of Woodson, so I ask (in all sincerity) - did you see my post yesterday evening? Louisville built a 38 point lead WITHOUT ATTEMPTING A SINGLE FREE THROW! Not one. Just how pathetic an effort does a team have to give over 30 minutes of a game that the opponent can nearly double the score on you and you haven’t contested a shot enough to be called for a foul? In all seriousness - what about Woodson and the body of work he has provided to this point leads you to believe he can right this ship? The problems we saw yesterday and today are the same ones we’ve seen the past 3 years. How in good consciousness can you continue to support this?

Let me start by saying I love Mike Woodson - as a player. Guy is an all time Hoosier legend on the court. Stating that makes it all the harder to say these words, but they MUST be said: Mike Woodson needs to be relieved of his coaching duties at Indiana University. We could talk about all the shortcomings, but those have been bandied about ad nauseam throughout this thread. But if anything can ever convince a naysayer who still supports Woody to finally admit that he needs to go, it’s this: Louisville - after leading 37-29 at halftime - out-scored Indiana 41-11 to lead 78-40 with 7:08 left in the game. That 38 point margin was the largest lead of the game for the Cardinals. And they achieved that without shooting a SINGLE free throw. None. In fact, UofL didn’t attempt a charity toss until 3:35 remained in the game. Again, THEY GOT A THIRTY EIGHT POINT LEAD WITHOUT ANY HELP FROM THE LINE! All of us who watched the game saw the uninspired effort, but until you see that statistic does it truly sink in just how truly pathetic the effort was. Even IF Woodson had a system that was conducive to winning (he doesn’t), there is nothing from the body of work that is the Mike Woodson era to make you believe he will be able to get this team to reverse course and play hard - as in playing focused and with purpose. Scott Dolson, please fire Mike Woodson. End this misery for everyone.

Which is EXACTLY why we needed to send him packing NOW. It’d be different if Woodson was some kind of NBA horse whisperer that was developing guys straight to the league and winning championships. But he’s not - his first two years he made the tournament because of having TJD on the roster; this year he missed the dance altogether despite multiple 5 stars. Now we’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. Guy is 66 years old, plays an offense nearly as old. And now we’re handicapping him with questions about whether he’ll be around and there’s no way in hell you want to extend him. IU administration once again has f¥{£Ed this basketball team/program.

NGW also said not to believe an article quoting Dalton Knecht saying his IU visit had to be rescheduled because Woody decided to have knee surgery. Just sayin . . .

It is if they already knew that they were returning, which they obviously knew since they announced it. Remember also on the Friday before - two days prior to senior day - Woodson told the media he had no idea whether either of them was doing senior day. So we’re supposed to believe that in the span of 48 hours they not only decided they were going to stay, but decided to go through with being on senior day and in their speeches allude to the fact that we “needed to chill”? if you believe all of that, I’ve got a bridge in San Francisco I’d love to sell you . . .

Penn State was 5-5 in their last 10 games. They did have a win against Illinois in that span, but most of those wins were against the bottom feeders. Today’s gonna tell us whether we’ve really turned the corner or not. Nebraska is a pretty decent team and if we beat them then, yeah, you’ve showed me something.

Exactly. some people are ecstatic we won four straight but who the hell did we really beat teams that are playing poorly down the stretch. I want to see what we do against Purdue, Illinois and other really good teams then I’ll say we’ve turned the corner or not. my money is we get thumped like we have already this year.
