At least SOMEBODY gets it.

6 freshmen, 2 sophs who have 96 minutes between them. Train wreck waiting to happen.

Disagree on Izzo. Michigan St has been extremely successful consistently - very few times over his career can you say the Spartans have fielded a “bad” team. Can’t recall a time when Izzo has ever had his program in the disarray Kentucky has been the last 3 years.
-
And you’re under thinking it. Only have to decide verticality? You REALLY think it’s THAT simple? Oh my dear lord . . .
-
The problem? UK is made up of 5 freshmen and 2 sophomores who between them have played a total of 96 minutes. Calipari has no experience whatsoever. It’s no coincidence his teams have been underachieving the past 6 years.

Spot on. Fully healthy, Newton can be a devastating defender. He’s not the scorer Calbert was, but his situation is so much like Cheaney’s where he is almost a complete unknown.

He was as high as 43 in Rivals: https://n.rivals.com/content/athletes/jakai-newton-279134?view=pv

Here is an indication of how athletic Newton is: In his 2nd game back, he blocked the dunk attempt of the #1 player in the 2023 class, Isaiah Collier. https://www.si.com/college/indiana/basketball/watch-indiana-basketball-commit-jakai-newton-blocks-isaiah-collier Scoring wise he still has to improve, but a solid-built, athletic 6-3 who has a 6-10 wingspan is likely to find playing time for his defense.
-
Without question. Jakai isn’t rated higher because of his injury. He’s got elite athleticism and has an extremely high ceiling.

Isn’t Kentucky reaching out to EVERY portal player? They’d be reaching out to Lexington South Middle School if 8th grade kids had the ability to enroll at UK.

Might be your best post ever Stu

Also, if the Cupps connection is true then he should be an asset and not a distraction. He’d be onboard with what Woody is wanting.

Sometimes it’s not just about getting drafted but starting the professional career - whether G League, Europe, etc. Coming back adds no value for him.

Besides losing to double digit seeds . . .

Will this team become the M & Ms?

Purdue is a system team. Even without Edey, Painter’s system keeps Purdue consistently in games against more talented teams. But as we learned against Miami, talent - especially long, athletic playmakers - becomes harder to overcome in the NCAA Tournament. When you have a kid like Edey you can negate that to an extent. But had Purdue shown even serviceable play from the guard/wing position they could have won a title, let alone never had the worst loss in NCAA Tournament history. Between Smith, Loyer and Morton you have an extreme lack of athleticism. They’re all solid players, and if the other two -particularly the guard spots - are athletic and long you probably would be ok. Having Smith and Loyer to compliment Morton, however, exposed Purdue badly.

His account has been around awhile, but he really popped up out of nowhere. And he’s obviously in the know - unlike all those so-called “experts”. Pretty funny.

Could be. Accounts like these are usually set up for a reason.

My money is on Slater.

The Bob Knight Show was a Sunday staple growing up. The Purdue Donkey episode is must-watch TV.
