    General Coach Candidate News

That was a quick update. Our conjectures are incorrect, with regard to the CZ recruiting weekend. If one of the insiders on here want to send me a DM, I can shed some more light on what was passed along.

    General Coach Candidate News

I’m close friends with a player who was on the same team as CZ. Just sent him a text to see if he can get to the bottom of the potential scouting trip. Will keep you all posted if I hear anything back. As far as I know, he and CZ still stay in touch.

I’ve been awaiting this moment for some time! Brad will fit quite comfortably.

Yes he was at the game. In his same spot at the scorer’s table as usual. i couldn’t understand why he had a green tie with shamrocks on, but now it’s making sense.

    They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

It’s so upsetting to watch this team. To think we had a shot at Bruce Pearl or Dusty May and decided to retain Coach Woodson is frustrating to say the least. I am predicting a 4-7 record over these next 11 games, including tonight. Then Brad Stevens takes the job once Woodson retires at the end of the season. A few mediocre seasons before hanging 3 more banners in Assembly Hall. Order restored in the College Basketball landscape.

Another year, another disappointing IU hoops season. The silver lining is that as our season outlook continues to grow dimmer, the activity around our next coach will ignite. I am still hoping for Brad Stevens. In the words of Lloyd Christmas, “So you’re saying there’s a chance!!!”

Watching Purdue go to a national title game is like having my eyes held open while salt is shaken into them. Fire Woodson!!!

I can actually shoot the 3 well… so no spot for me on this coaching staff’s roster.

Thanks for sharing the insights you have. It makes this board a lot of fun! To any of us who dreamed about playing basketball for the Hoosiers, this next year might be our opportunity! I still have some eligibility left. Could bring some wisdom to the team.

Wouldn't logic predicate that Pearl will be interested in an opening if it were to occur next year? Or will Pearl never be approved by the BoT? To me, the silver lining is that we aren’t willing to roll the dice on a “flavor of the month” HC hire. Also, in the spirit of silver linings - I’m seeing quite a few guards hit the portal. All who can shoot better than anyone on our current roster.

    NCAA MBB Transfer Portal

Caleb Love sure would be a nice addition to the roster. Maybe Woody can showcase JHS (assuming he gets drafted 1st round) as an example of how our program could help Love.
  13. I’m not going to get too worked up over who stays. With a transfer portal that’ll be more full than years past, it will be fun to see how Woodson and company do with attracting players that can turn our program around.
  14. I’m hopeful Coach Woodson will turn things around for our program! In continuing with this thread - will we ever know what actually happened with Brad Stevens? This hire has me wondering if this was a Billy Donovan situation all over again.
  15. Yep. I won’t say much more than that.
  16. To stoke the fire... a Crean era player who by his own words “stays in-touch with the program” told me as recent as last week that Stevens is still in-play.
  17. This! It’s been one heck of a ride and has given us all something to root for, since we didn’t have a dog in the fight this tourney.
  18. I agree with you. But why couldn’t Stevens have given a more mild response if he is actually interested in the job? And why are all the national media guys so certain he never considered the job? Good thing we have Billy Donovan as a backup plan.
  19. If we are planning to wait, it sure seems like we’re putting all of our eggs in one basket. In Dolson we trust.
  20. There’s no doubt canning Archie was the right move. I feel like we may have had less players in the transfer portal if we retained Archie until closer to the end of the NBA season. This is assuming Stevens is the guy and has been from day 1 and that Stevens sticks out the rest of the season with the Celtics.
  21. Been lurking for a while. Finally decided to jump in. If we’re willing to wait until the end of the NBA season for Stevens - why didn’t we retain Archie until the end of the season drew closer? I get that retaining Archie would restrict our ability to pursue other collegiate coaches, but if Stevens has been the goal from day 1 the timing seems odd.
