If If If iu is digging down to the brownell types of the world, had Sean Miller been mentioned? He may have zero interest based on us firing his brother, but he was rumored to be one of illinios top candidate when underwood flirted with leaving a year or two ago. I’m guessing Xavier NIL is average at best.
-
And allegedly he reached out during our two previous openings.
-
He’s happy there. Chicago kid. He wouldn’t leave for just any job.
-
Didn’t Dolson also renegotiate the buyout at this time too though? Win-Win

As someone mentioned yesterday, while the last 4 years was a failed experiment, Woodson is still a Hoosier at heart. Some of you were fortunate to watch him play too. It simply didn’t work out with him as a coach and he was clearly his own worst enemy. In the end, he just simply wasn’t good enough in a high-stakes, results based business. The videos posted yesterday for the seniors show how much some of the kids care about him. Most of them developed great bonds with him. While this chapter is coming to a close, it’s awesome to get a tourney birth and a coaching search at the same time (basically college bball fan heaven). Most of us will be cheering for this squad. We thank Coach for the last four years. And we are all looking to the next chapter. I’m still holding out hope for Stevens. In the meantime, it’s fun to support this squad. There is talent here. Never know what can happen with matchups. I’m not holding my breath, but just never know.

Or it could be this quiet because it’s not currently a college coach and they are just waiting until the season is over to announce??
-
Agree. I just didn’t know she had a history too. Case closed though (no pun intended).

I spoke to a UT alum today … I didn’t realize that Beards fiancé/girlfriend at the time also had her issues. (Im not excusing him whatsoever, but sounds like she had some things to work on as well)
-
Let’s say for a minute it’s not Stevens and it’s not an active college coach … it does open the door for Billy D (who is in NBA purgatory), Jay Wright, TB (highly doubt), etc.
-
He’s on the clipppers …. LA … Cronin? Lawrence Frank is there too was drafted by Oklahoma, but I don’t think he played for Donovan. Played at ASU for Archie’s mentor - Herb Sendek. he played for McHale right? Anyone from the Celtics org that IU would be interested in?!?
-
Also part of why I could see May and his family being hesitant about taking the IU job now … if it doesn’t work out, a handful of lives are upside down.
-
May signing the revised contract leads me to believe Dolson already has someone. Just me though.

Steven’s wife’s agency is in FL
-
Hopefully it doesn’t get to it, but curious who plan C, D, and E are …

NIL I’d assume is better at IU
-
Got it. I’ve gathered that Baylor NIL is more geared towards football. Does anyone know how Drew is viewed within Indiana bball circles?
-
What he’s done, with almost nothing, has been solid. Maybe not good enough for IU, but he’s done a great job at Northwestern. And we’ve all seen him coach and he’s very good IMO. The question is how great could he be at IU with much superior talent? Comparing him specifically to Ben M - I’m sure people would lean on Collins P4 experience. Crean talked about that too in his podcast with HH.
-
How is Baylor NIL situation? I honestly don’t know. Is that his reason for less talent recently? Does he have a good reputation with Indiana high schools and Indiana AAU programs?
-
I think I missed it yesterday, but do the Indiana high schools / AAU programs have issues with Drew? I recall people saying things like that in the past. Was it just his cheating at Baylor back in the day? On the flip side, NIL certainly alleviates that.
-
You don’t think IU would be a tournament team this year with Collins as the coach?
-
IIRC, Archie didn’t want him to come to IU early and his family pushed for it. At least that was one rumor I recall.
-
10000% agree. Hes on my short list!
-
Or they are waiting to announce at the end of the season?
-
I threw his name out yesterday too … I didn’t realize he’s 63. Given his age, however, I’d still be on board with him for 7-10 years.
-
I also wonder if there is a different non current college coach in the mix?
