Yup. And Archie was a good hire at the time. He just wasn’t fit for all the other stuff that comes with the IU job … sadly nor is our current coach.

Love it. As we’ve discussed, I think this offseason there are two candidates- $teven$ and May. I suspect Dolson is handling more NIL and admin stuff right now than going through a candidate list. His list is complete. He was ready last offseason (evidenced by May’s buyout at UM).

I think Calbert is the lowest risk as I honestly don’t think he’d even want the job full time - just speculation

There’s a tweet that Dolson had him lined up last offseason but QB shut it down. Dolson probably asked to give him one more year.

Mich was so desperate to get back on track. It’s been mentioned here, but he allegedly turned down Louisville bc they wanted a higher buyout. If May doesn’t get the IU job, Mich will renegotiate his buyout.

He basically has an IU buyout in his contract. He negotiated it so he can watch our offseason unfold.

Which is frustrating bc there is talent on this team. I know exhibitions don’t mean much, but they beat Tennessee on the road. Now they’re losing by 20+ points regularly on the road to garbage teams. We suck

Sounds like the ship sailed on Pearl. May’s buyout seems like it was tailored exactly for IUs upcoming offseason. That’s why I assume he’s one of the most realistic candidates (if not the favorite)

Assuming Cheaney doesn’t want it, I’d prefer him with this team for two months than the current roller coaster we are on.

I honestly don’t even think Cheaney would want the job. And I’m sure he and Dolson would go into it with “no matter how this turns out, we’re hiring Dusty or Brad”

I’m talking about just for the rest of this season. He has experience coaching. I actually think he could rally the troops for two months (see it all the time in sports)
