lol. Possible adjunct professor for Political Science 101 too?!?
-
Just to be clear here … exactly what BS are we smelling?!? A scent from the Boston area?
-
Sadly for the kids, the losing will continue to take care of itself. likewise, the losing should mark the end of this experiment. I actually think an interim is the best of both worlds - maybe rally the troops for the next two months and have a new coach by early April.
-
Yup. Once he actually gets full control of bball operations, the program will be relevant again.

Anyone Still Want to ‘Fire Scott Dolson’?
12345Brad replied to go iu bb's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Agree. And QB has taken away Dolsons bball power. Hopefully that is changing. -
Was it a quid pro quo with QB? $10mm for Archie’s buyout, but had to hire Stevens or Woodson? given this year is a debacle and QB backed Woody with $6mm, I would think/hope this one is 100% on Dolson. Allegedly Dolson was ready to move on last year, but QB bought him and funded him one more year.
-
I think Dolson hired Matta with Dane as an assistant and QB wanted Stevens then his guy Woodson. Hence the $hit storm we’re in. QB overruled the AD.
-
February 7th is when the pursuit and negotiations with Brad will commence.
-
His buyout at UM suggests he is very aware of our upcoming situation.
-
Same here
-
How bad were the emails? That seems like a potential breach of contract situation?
-
The argument from QB was “Archie got 4 years, so does woody. And here’s $6mm to buy a team” and underachieve
-
It seems like he’s 99.9% gone imo. Dolson was ready to move on last season.
-
Let’s see what happens after NW. I don’t trust Woodson at NW vs Collins
-
I hear you. Collins is just a 10x better coach. he would be on my personal short list, but still don’t think it goes past Stevens & May.
-
If they get buried at NW, it’ll get interesting. Very tough stretch after that.
-
Then at Purdue and Wisky. Two more tough ones after MD. Then Mich and Mich St. Tough stretch.
-
I personally don’t think they win at NW. maybe this win bought him a weekend, but if IU gets buried at NW, it’ll be an interesting couple of days before MD
-
Agree. Don’t see him wanting the job full time.
-
I hope. Only concern is OSU or Texas situation, but that seems like a 3% chance of happening (or less)
-
Dolson had him lined up. QB had him turned down. IU is May’s first choice and dream job.
-
And I’m not defending it, but can understand it. At least at the time.
-
Typical business negotiation. Both parties got something out of it. Plus, the program was on a different trajectory than it is now. There were definitely high hopes going into this season. the buyout structure is very appealing for Dolson now thank goodness.
-
Was the buyout restructured at the same time tho?
-
He has no aspirations to be the IU coach. No risk of them making a run and maybe having to hire him (ie - Texas and O$U). I assume Ya wants to be a head coach and maybe Hunter has the desire?
