  1. Anybody got a link to the post game presser?

Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff

I'll be surprised if Duncomb sees IU's floor again. I think he'll transfer. Unless he was hurt for a lot more of the season than was made public. When you can't play in mop up time, something is wrong. Injury or otherwise.
  3. IU 68 UM 60 (no way they can shoot lights out again) But I guess it depends on which IU team shows up. The DGAF team, or the payback team.

Thanx in large part to a "questionable" foul in the St Johns game.

Everytime I read a post about Race leaving, I keep hearing his quote in my head: "How can you say No, to Coach Woodson"...

    IUBB vs Rutgers - 03/02/22 @ 7:00 on BTN

Saw a post on the HSN board that some guy tweeted that TJD has signed an NIL deal with Pennzoil. My question is: Why would he sign an NIL deal 30 days before the end of the season, go thru all of the NIL red tape, if he wasn't coming back. If he's going pro, he could just wait 30 days and sign the deal without the NIL hoops. (no pun intended) This could be a very good signal that he's back. And IF Woody can get a Hulk Hogan type guy for the 5, or any legitimate guy for the 5, then TJD could become the 4 we wanted him to be. Develop that outside shot, drive, and be that stretch 4 guy. Interesting... Edit: Just got shot down on the other board saying that it's probably a short term deal tied in with the 500. Could very well be, but I have my story and I'm sticking to it !!

SIAP but I just watched the last 8:02 again. We had 6 turnovers in that time and MN hit 8 three's (I might be off by 1). Had 14 three's for the game. We played defense during that time, but not nearly as intense as the 32 minutes before that. Gotta get a lot better. But glad for the win.

SIAP but just heard Woody say in the presser that Gallo's injury is hamstring/groin area. Didn't sound confident of when he would return. Also didn't have any ETA on Lander

If you haven't rebooted it yet (meaning unplugging the power) try that. It sure help clean mine up quite a bit

Not so sure I agree with you, especially of late. Leal has come in over the last 3(?) games under different circumstances and played different roles. He was forced to play Point for part of a couple games, wing in yesterday's game. The reason he doesn't see the floor more is that Woody is fixated (maybe rightly so) on PS and Kopp being the SG and SF. I think Anthony has improved a bunch this year. He's not great yet, maybe never will be great, but I'm sure glad he's on the team to bring energy, move the ball, run the floor and shoot when it's the right thing to do.

Leal plays smart, and hard. He passed up couple of shots at 3's last night to make a better pass inside, where we scored. He kept Ayala in check when he was on him, and rarely got beat on defense. (I just watched the game again on the DVR) Will he be GREAT @ IU? Probably not, but I'll bet you he will be better than PS on both ends of the court before he's done. And PS is getting way more minutes than I would like. PS went 1 for 6 last night from 3, and consistently got beat on defense. Leal was 0 for 3 in the OSU game, and IIRC 1 for 1 last night. His role is not necessary "go shoot 3's". It's (as some others have said) go calm things down and don't do anything stupid like your team mates are right now. (read: Kopp's behind the back pass into 3 defensive guys) I really want to see Leal & Galloway together next year on the court. All that energy, and good BBall IQ, could go a long way in making us more consistent as a team.

I think he'll be "engaged", but level headed is another story perhaps.

    IUBB vs Wisconsin - 02/15/22 @ 9:00 on ESPN2

Re: effort I finally watched the Rutgers/Wisky game yesterday. There were a lot of possessions where the entire Rutgers team was moving all at once, (in half court set up) and with purpose. Not a casual jog thru the lane, but a sprint. They moved the ball really well. On many of the sets we run, my 70 year old body could guard most of the cuts our guys make. It's embarrasing to say "we played hard" when we move without purpose or intensity, or more than one at a time. Gallo's pace should be the minimum pace that all of them play at. That's why there's a deep bench. But I'm not so sure we're playing team ball all the time. I see a little selfishness creeping in from time to time.

There are "named" leaders (with rank) and there are "functional" leaders (with action). I'll take a functional leader 8 days a week. Gallo certainly fits that mold, and I think Leal could if he ever got enough playing time. Hopefully next year.
  17. Is Straight8 out of town again to post the results from MSU? I realize it's a lot of work, and I'm not complaining, just inquiring.

    IUBB @ Michigan State - 02/12/22 @ 3:30 on Fox-TV

I think Woodson & the coaching staff are "a little" to blame for not developing TJD's shot and free throws. His FT form is robotic and not fluid at all. He never gets his legs into it, and just "throws" it up there, with hardly any arc. And 90% of the time the FT's are long. Corrections are teachable. But TJD has to put in the work and gain confidence in making the changes. Same goes for his "outside shot"

I'm not a coach, nor expert, so when even I can see that our offense sucks, it must REALLY suck. No movement of more than one guy at a time, throw it into TJD and clog the paint with your presence to get a rebound...or an over the back foul. And I could go on and on, but you guys already know what I'm talking about.
