watching a lot of games and realize that most teams are just a like and there is very little variety in college basketball. There are no real great teams, and every team plays the same on the offensive end, so it makes for a lot of up and down play from game to game or even during the game. I think some of the problems is that on offense that everyone wants to use analytics that says you should shoot 3's or layups. Also, I just think 30 second shot clock is not enough time and would love to go back to 45 seconds. It still eliminates teams from holding the ball, but it still allows teams to run an offense. There is way too much dribbling in the game today and the lack of player and ball movement drives me crazy. I just think the product we see on the court today in college is so down compared to the 80's and 90's. I don't see it getting any better because of the transfer portal and guys leaving early for the NBA. I still like the college game and watch a lot of games, but it is just not as fun watching the game of basketball than it used to be for me. I have Covid for the third time, so I have a lot of time on my hands. I have been watching a lot of games from the 80's and 90's and the game does not even look the same. The type of offense and the kind of shots were so much better back then. You had very little dribbling and you moved the ball by the pass. You had players moving and setting off the ball screens to get your shooters open. There were very little ball screens, and you didn't see 3 of your players just standing around waiting for the guy to drive. Sorry for my rant but I just don't like the path that basketball is on. I have been watching college basketball for 50 years and it is my passion, so i hate what the game has become.

I just think in general this fan base has gotten worse the last 15 years over what it was in past. I just think anyone who would want a starting lineup without a true PG doesn't know the game. X has his flaws, but he gives us the best chance of winning and his shooting from 3 has not been bad. Also, RP has started to come on and anyone who thinks he should not get playing time doesn't know the game. Everyone just looks at the offensive side of the ball but RP ids our best on the ball defender. He pretty much saved us twice against MSU shutting down Winston on the last plays of the game.

I use to think IU fans were tbe smartest basketball fans but after reading some of these post I don't think that any longer.

This is an easy one because he will follow his former coach to USC -
He has been with 3 teams in 3 years so there is some problems with him.
-
You mean the offense that has scored 11 points in 10 minutes
-
I complained about IU subbing all 5 out and PU has done this tonight as well.
-
So you are benching our best perimeter defender who had played 3 straight good games
-
I think it is time to go to a 8 or 9 player rotation and stop having the whole second unit at the same time. I would have 3 guys at the 4-5 spot. Have Geronimo sub in for Race and in a few minutes have Race come in for TJD. Have RP and probably Galloway and Bates as the other bench players.

After looking at the picture I could eliminate the guys and hay wasn't 4 year players. So I had it down to 4 guys Smith, Oliphant, Meir and Palokowski. I knew Alford and Holman didn't shoot for jay well and Thomas never shot 3's. -
(2023) - PG Gabe Cupps to O$U via Indiana
IU Scott replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I have seen both on YouTube and just watched Smith games on TV and haven't seen a huge difference. Yes Cupp is friends with LeBron but that doesn't do anything for him on the court. I am not upset getting Cupp at all and glad he chose IU -

I liked Smith's desire to win and we need that. I am not saying Cupp is not the same and can't wait to see him play -

Is there much difference between Cupp and the Smith kid from Westfield. It seemed like some of our fans didn't think Smith was big enough but are really happy with Cupp. -

Randy Whitman or Ted Kitchen. In 83 they implemented the 3 for that year and remember both of them hitting at a high rate -
Today's refs had no clue what a charge or block is. A horrible charging on UM and Howard went out on the floor and got into the regs face. That arc in the lane is the worst thing they have done to basketball. The refs only look at the hat and not if the defender was there in time
-
Well I did the same thing. I don't agree with the call but the OL shouldn't be allowed to pull the RB as well
-
Really good game going on UCF 55-51 against UM. The crowd at UCF is very loud and helping UCF make this big run
-
The UT lineman was also trying to pull the RB into the end zone which shouldn't be allowed

So far the Cathedral team is sleep walking through this game. They have 8 turnovers and just letting Westfield drive right to the basket
