I thought the defensive tenacity in the UNC game was the best I have seen IU play in years. -
Having watched parts of two big ten games and then turn it on the UK and Alabama it is night and day. The difference in the style of play and just the length and athletic ability is so different. I think this is the main reason it has been 22 years since the big ten has won a championship

Does Simmons have any eligibility left. Got Camper, McCulley and Cooper and the two transfers so who else do we have left
-
Whatever the yardage it shows he isn't a statue in the pocket

Think I read where Nolan had rushed for over 600 yards in his career

Do we have a good chance with him. We need some relentless players -
Everyone has their opinion which is fine but I would never want Calapari coaching at the school I root for. Just like I hated having Sampson as our coach.
-
The wins but never want it to be under Calapari
-
Sounds like we might get the QB Nolan from Oregon St. Coming out of high school he was ranked as one of the best pro style QB's
-
Who cares about UK and what they think. Never want IU compared to UK fans
-
It helped that Beard was an alumni of UT. The time they replaced Williams it was Guthridge who was a long time assistant with no HC experience. Also Williams wouldn't have went to UNC from KU if he wasn't an alumni and former assistant at UNC.

But the Crean and especially the Archie hire was thought to be a big time hires when they happened.

I think I'm today's college basketball when there is a big opening you are not seeing that job filled by another elite coach. Just look in the last year with Coach K, Williams and Wright, those jobs were filled by assistant coaches with no HC experience. These coaches see that you can win anywhere and make big money anywhere so why leave your job to take on a job like IU or any other elite job.

The difference is when Purdue throws it into Edey the other players don't just stand but they move and cut. They also use Edey in some screening before he post up. -
Nobody is satisfied at all and we all want IU basketball to get back to what it was like when I was growing up. All I am saying is that our fans and that includes me at the first sign of trouble turns on the coach. I am not saying the fans are even close to being the main problem but it might be a small problem. Like I said we have made change after change and nothing changes.

I don't see this game being a high scoring game. NW is one of the best defensive teams in the country but their offense isn't very good.

This should show you the difference in defense once Race left. https://www.insidethehall.com/2023/01/07/film-session-iowa-15/ -
I would hope we would never want to compare ourselves with that fan base
-
Well we have blamed everything else and changed every other position so what is the problem. We have chang coaches many times in both sports, we have changed AD's many times. The administration is totally different so in your opinion why is Indiana basketball stuck in mediocrity. Our current coach and AD has only been on the job a couple of years so why not be patient with them to see what they can do.

I don't think the offense struggles that much. Pretty sure I saw where we are 6th in country in shooting and 4tj in the big ten in 3 points shooting. I agree defense is bad and that is why we lost last night. Really the Rutgers game is the only game where our offense was try awful. -
When Woodson retires, do you see him coaching more than 5 more years
-
The thing that s that they fired Howland after going to 3 straight final fours. I think programs need to check themselves and if going to 3 straight final fours then something is wrong
-
I love listening to Lewis and he was on DD show a lot and if things works well at BSU I hope he will replace Woodson in a few years.
-
UCLA has been looking for the perfect coach since Wooden left.

I have always wonder what is inside us sports fan that makes us nuts when our team loses. It is a game played by others and we have nothing to do with what happens on the court. I think sometimes our self worth is based on how our team is perceived by others. I have seen IU win 3 national championships, seen the Colts win a Super Bowl and none of them changed my life anymore than if we lost.
