I have seen Booker 3 times in person and he wasn't overly impressive. He stayed out at the 3 point line and didn't rebound well for a guy his size. For a top ranked recruit he was the 4th or 5th option on his HS team. He seems to have a low motor and didn't always play up to his capabilities. I think the fact that UK or Duke didn't really recruit him should tell you something. -

You will never change my mind and I won't change yours on this subject which is fine to have different opinions. Of course we have to see how it plays out but as of right now I would rather look at things in a positive manner. I doubt very many people thought after 1 year that Woodson would have us in a position to be picked to win the conference. -

Just have to agree to disagree on this topic. I am sure the coaching staff knows more than we do on who has legit interest in IU and knows who to spend their time and effort on. -

For me I only see one big miss and that was Page. We put the time and effort in recruiting him the hardest. To me Keiser who we got to hold off his commitment was not a big miss because we ncamebin so late. Booket I don't think we were real serious about recruiting him and there were questions about his motor and work ethic. Also have to wonder why the blue bloods didn't really recruit him that hard. -

With how Wright's first few years went he would be fired in today's standards. They were wanting to move on from him after 5-6 years. -

I agree that you can turn it around but it helps if you have a rich history and tradition. You under estimate Arkansas Elite 8 Arkansas 11. IU 11 Final four Arkansas 6, IU 8 Only difference is titles IU 5 Arkansas 1 -

I would hate to always look at the pessimistic pointb of view because that would be a miserable way to live. We are picked by many to win the conference and be a top 15 team in the country so that is what I am concerned about. I won't think about the 23-24 class until next June when the players come back to campus. As for next year if everyone comes back that can then I think we will he a top 25 team If JHS and Bates leaves then guys like Keiser and Page wouldn't make up for that lost anyways. -

Sampson shouldn't buave ever been hired at IU in the first place. I am truly sorry you haven't ever seen IU at it's best and hope you will get bro see it some day. Saying that from a long time fan who has seen it at it's best would never want bto be howbUK does things. I see you say that just winning championships isn't everything but why was Cream get fired one year after winning the big ten. In a five year period he went to 3 sweet 16's and won the big ten 2 times -

Not true because we always attacked UK on how they have the most major violations in college sports. This happened even when we were one of the top programs. -

My last thing about Cal, I would rather IU go 0-31 than have Calapari as coach at IU. Don't like him as a person and the way he builds a roster. I don't like the fact that he left two programs on probation and had to forfeit final 4 appearances -

So next year this can be our starting lineup JHS Bates Banks Geronimo Reneau To me that is a top 25 team and bring these guys off the bench. Galloway Cupps Newton Duncomb Gunn -

Why are you only focusing on the freshman and not the returning players developing into very good players. Last year UW had lost 4 starters and only had Davidson and Davis coming back that had played major minutes. They had a freshman PG in Hepburn who wasn't highly rated and that team won the big ten -

Read my post above because going into next year it is players already on the roster developing is more important than any freshman coming. Do you think UW and Iowa saw how much better Murray or Davis got over the summer. I see players like Banks, Reneau and Gunn as players who will develop a lot between their freshman and sophomore years. I look at our 94 season where we just lost Cheaney, G Graham, Nover and Reynolds and only had two players coming back that you knew what to expect. You had Bailey and Henderson who played key roles but we're never a go to guy. Then you had Evans who played some as a RS freshman, Leary, Lindemann and P. Graham who was always injured. No one expected that to be a sweet 16 team. Also I do follow recruiting and have for years. I remember buying Street & Smith pre view magazine every year and read all of their recruiting. I remember skipping part of a class in college to listen to a recruiting analyst talking about IU chances with Corliss Williamson. I bout Inside Indiana for years just for the recruiting articles. -

One thing to remember about looking ahead to next year, it is more important that our guys coming back develops more than what freshman we bring in. I sure fans of Iowa and UW were worried going into the year since they lost a lot from the previous season. No one knew how much better that Davis and Murray would be would be going into last season. To me we have those type players who will play a role this year but next year will be ready to be key contributors like Banks, Reneau and Gunn. -

Why would you panic about recruiting this early in the process even without the portal. -

I go back to 92 and 93 where we were filled with a lot of good players and compare it to the Fab 5. If you just look at the two years the Fab 5 was together they went to two national championship games but lost. In those two years they never won the big ten where IU finished 2nd in 92 and first in 93. In 92 we got to the final 4 and in 93 got to the elite. Even though UM went farther I take our roster because they were all 4 year players. -

Don't get me wrong you have to have really good players to win but I don't think you have to have top 10 players from a class either. If you build your roster full of players ranked 25-80 you will be fine. Also how do you know how good of a coach that Woodson will be in college since it is only his second year. If it is just about recruiting then Duke and IK would win every year. -

Just look at the last 10 champions and get back to me to see where there recruiting rankings were. I will take how Villanova built their team over how Cal does. If Cal gets the best players every year why hasn't he won more championships. -

Not a fan of Cal recruiting strategy at all and never want IU to be a one and done factory. For me one of the best things about college sports was to see players come in and develop over time but UK never has that. -

This is where us older fans differ from the younger fans because I would never want IU to use Cal's recruiting and mainly have one and dones. We have had 3 one and dones and two never played in the post season and the other lost in the first round. -

That UNC proves my.point when I was talking about Newton and Cupps. Next year if JHS doesn't leave. JHS Bates Banks Reneau Newton Cupps All of these guys are rated in the top 90 in their class. JHS, Bates and Reneau are top 30 players. You also have Duncomb who I think was rated in the top 100 and then you have Gunn and Geronimo and Galloway who were lower rated but can be a big part of the team -

Look at the final four and the champions the last 10 years and you see mainly veteran teams that didn't have one and done players.
