Fife was on record saying Leal is a B1G level starter. It took Woody's ego time to come to grips.

It's a win. Does nothing but increase the likelihood Woody is back and we have to endure another awful season. Pretty predictable actually.

He really wants that buyout $$$ now it appears.

I'm a Dusty May fan. But I prefer Schwerz. Dusty is always talked about as such a nice guy, great guy, great family man. That's usually the kiss of death in coaching. We've had so many from Cam Cameron to Bill Lynch to Tom Allen to Mike Davis to Crean to Archie to Woody. The Colts have had a ton from Dungy to Caldwell to Pagano to Reich. It's just not what we need. Schertz earned everything he got. Daddy kicked him out of the house. Lived off of friends couches. Got a girl knocked up then divorced. As someone else said he's a dude. We need another Knight, a Belichek, a Pitino, a Calipari, etc. An @$$ kicker so to speak. Not sure Dusty is that guy.

It sounded like he had burned most of his out of state bridges as well. He was awful at Georgia for a reason.

Mike Davis is currently 0-23 at Detroit Mercy

Inconsistency and burning every recruiting bridge he had was what did him in. Trust me, we were only going down with Crean. The HS coaches in the state despised him.

Both have 3 years of P5 HC experience. I can't even imagine the reaction from the mob if we replaced Woody with Schrewsberry.

I'd rather keep Woody for a few more years.

One thing I'll say for Crean is he did seem to get a bad draw in each of the 3 S16 years. I thought in Zellers first season we'd make the FF if we weren't in Kentucky's bracket. Syracuse was a terrible matchup for Crean. In Yogi's final year I thought we had a great chance at a FF again assuming we didn't play UNC or Villanova on the way.

If I'm Dolson I wouldn't even make the call this time. He can pound sand. I would kick the tires on Donovan once more. After that it's a coin flip between Schertz and May unless the administration is willing to hire Pearl or Drew. I'm guessing no on that.

May is probably who it will be assuming he's still available. I kind of like the ISU coach a little better. Mainly because he's completely turned around 2 programs vs 1.

So in other words, we will win 3 more games, and Woody gets another year because we can't hurt anyone's feelings. May to UL and Schwerz to OSU. Next season is a disaster, Woody gets fired, and we kick off the Michael Lewis era. Did I miss anything?

Need Buckner's ok first as we knew. We are doomed.

What I've always heard since the RMK firing is no one bigger than the program ever again no matter what. Of course any coach who wins big here will become a legend. We are obsessed with basketball. The ideal coach as I was told is the guy who wins 20 games or so every year and usually makes the dance. Keeps butts in the seats and the money flowing in but never anything more. They truly thought they had their man in Tom Crean but he wasn't good enough.

But at least we have Armond Hill, Woody's right hand man, who was 2-25 and 0-14 in conference play as a HC at Columbia.

Yeah I don't think Sean Miller is gonna happen.

He said we needed an IU guy. Was definitely wrong on that.

They definitely thought they had Stevens. No one pays a $10M buyout to go out and hire Mike freaking Woodson.

Greenspan wanted to hire JB. Herbert overruled him and insisted on hiring a minority.

Dakich is an arrogant prick but he does know college basketball and IU about as well as anyone. Sometimes he hits the mark.

Then just let her overrule you and give you the blame when it hits the fan. That’s what happened with Sampson. I would never allow my boss to do that in a million years.
