If that's the case all should be removed from their duties immediately. If they know he needs to go but they aren't willing to pull the plug themselves they have no business being anywhere near a position of power.

I do wonder if it's possible that May/Pearl are simply smokescreens and Dolson has someone else in mind. Probably not but you never know. It just seemed like every hire since Davis was fired all came out of left field. We all thought we were getting Lon Kruger at one point lol. Dolson just seems to run a tight ship so not sure he'd allow anything to leak. Chris himself said he didn't know about the Allen firing until the day or or the day before. I'm not talking the pipe dream 1/1000000 candidates (Billy, BS, Jay) just maybe someone else we aren't talking about.

@trillydonovan on Twitter. Link is in the header.

There's only one 47 year old we should consider if interested (highly unlikely). He's not named Dusty.
-
He's better than Woody. That's the most obvious statement in the world. But if you hire Dusty May you absolutely have to guarantee somehow that his first 2 years are a big success. If that's an insane amount of NIL money to buy him a top 10 roster so be it. He will not have anywhere near the leash Pearl would have with the fans. Most would be disappointed and you'd have half the fan base rooting for loses to speed up the firing process before he's coached a single game. Sucks but it is what it is. He can succeed but the first 2 years will determine everything. Everyone wants Pearl.
-
I'd hire Collins over May. Just a much safer hire imo. I can totally see Dusty being bust. Could be great. It's really a coin flip.

So the "no one bigger than the program" crowd strikes again. These people hate us.
-
Agreed. Just saying the BOT needs to stay out and let Dolson do his thing.

Cathy Langham attended IU from 1976-1980. Who else attended IU during those years? Who did she likely end up idolizing as she watched games those years? Very similar to Buckner and probably has a friendship with Woody. It's a direct conflict of interest and likely a breach of fiduciary duties to the University. People like that need to stay the hell out of athletics. It is not their wheelhouse. She's already talked about emotions. Making decisions based on emotions and not fact and reality is exactly how we got into this flaming dumpster fire in the first place.
-
It's really just beyond belief. Why is some old woman like Cathy Langham who graduated from the Kelley school in 1980, runs a logistics company, and likely knows absolutely nothing about college basketball trying to get involved and hinder a former IU basketball manager from making a decision regarding the men's basketball program? Absolute insanity and exactly why we've been the laughingstock of the college basketball world for 25 years.
-
These are some of the dumbest people in the history of the world. Absolutely unbelievable how anyone that clueless could ever get into a position of power. They really don't understand what they are doing. Completely clueless and out of touch.

Buckner needs to stay in his lane.
-
So Glass should've hired a guy that wasn't remotely qualified, that no IU fan or alum wanted, and that no other college basketball program in the country would've even looked at? Wow.
-
I've come to the conclusion that Dolson just needs to pull the trigger and let the chips fall where they may. He doesn't need BOT approval. It's clear he doesn't believe Woody is the guy and would've never hired him had Buckner not forced it. And Buckner is an absolute moron and one of the worst coaches in NBA history. Believe he was fired in year 1 of a 5 year contract. A pretty impressive feat actually. Just do it Scott. The fans and alums have your back. It's not worth it to have a job where a completely clueless BOT tries to handicap you all the way.
-
It's a clear breach of his fiduciary duties. He should've been fired already. If it requires the Governor to sign off than Whitten, Dolson, and the rest of the board need to move on it.
-
And Barzello. And Goodman who recently said Woody would be back then this Tweet yesterday. Jeff's daughter works on behalf of Dolson, right? Anyone saying this isn't being coordinated by someone in the AD is clueless.
-
The thing is if you bring him back you have to be 100% certain that next season will be much, much better...25 wins, top 3-4 B1G finish, get past the opening weekend, etc. If it's anything less heads would absolutely have to roll. Absolutely no one thought Woody made any sense as a hire and no one believes another year is a good thing. You just cannot make multiple blunders like that in a row. I truly believe Dolson knows this and he's trying desperately to make a move.
-
He sure slipped that buyout clause into Woody's $1M pay raise making it much easier to cut bait. Seems calculated.
-
Regarding # 6, there was nothing organic about what came out yesterday. Someone decided to release the hounds and it most certainly was Dolson.
-
"No one bigger than the program ever again"
-
This was from yesterday so yeah.

There has to be some THC in those cigars.

Archie didn't have NIL or the portal nor did he inherit Trayce Jackson Davis. Surely Quinn knows that?
