There could be reasons for Scott giving that out other than it being a final decision -

2023-2024 MBB Big Ten Tournament

Yeah, everybody who produces predictive ratings/rankings uses the same base formula with a few variations here and there as to how they use the data. While everybody can pick certain teams where they don't agree with their ranking, they all really do a good job of predicting winners of games. -

Booker was a 5-star, top 20 recruit, so I'd think so. Essegian, maybe not so much.

2024 B1G Women's Basketball Tournament

Women’s program seems to have the same luck as the men’s when it used to make tournaments regularly….key players always get hurt at tournament time. -

Not surprising. If you remember back when Crean was coach, Dakich did nothing but rip him up until everybody wanted him gone and he was fired, and then he said he shouldn't have been fired. In his business, the contrarian position is the most profitable. -

The fan base is the only thing this program has going for it right now. If you want to know what this program looks like without the fan base, look at DePaul. But hey, DePaul doesn't have to worry about "toxic" fans anymore, lol. And one thing's for sure, once a fan base leaves, it doesn't come back.

A lot of us getting up there in age are tired of the endless marathon, where just when it looks like the finish line is in sight, it moves far away again. Maybe it’s time to find a more enjoyable race. Might be something the administration should consider before it commits to yet another year of crap.

And in the process, shooting the whole program in the foot. If it’s got any feet remaining. -

Certainly. I’m just not sure giving him a purportedly serious interview with no intent to hire him constitutes “better treatment,” but I can see where some people would disagree with that. -

I’m certainly not privy to any communication between Glass and Woodson, but does deciding someone is not even qualified enough to get an interview necessarily constitute blowing someone off? Does your company interview every single person that applies for a job? -

He was, just not very high at all. I don’t think even the people listing him as a candidate actually believed IU would hire him. But he was on some lists. -

Yes it can, but the school losing the coach would want something in return for lowering the buyout. For example, IU could agree to play a road game at Auburn in the future …. I’m not sure if that kind of thing happens often or not. -

It could be, but I’m not sure if anyone has had much success negotiating that figure down.
